He has the talent and potential to be great. Can your staff refine his traits and push him to reach his ceiling?

I want to see the Bulls draft him and see what he can do.

Thats what AK is for. If your not drafting high ceiling guys like Ball, Deni, then you just handcuffed AK and not playing to your strengths.
Might as well blow it all up for veteran stars like Lowry, DD, Drummond, Griffin and pray a 2021 agent joins.

I agree. We need to be taking high ceiling guys and finding ways to develop them.

I don't know much about Deni Avdija, but just from watching youtube videos I think some of his recent hype may be fueled by what we just saw Luka Dončić accomplish.

From the videos I have watched, I'm not seeing a future star. I still have not made up my mind on who I would want, but its not Deni.

Great point! Too many guys get lift from guys in the league who they remind some GM of. The next Curry, Lebron, or Dirk (ahem) rarely ends up even being a starter.

I’m not sure anybody who has watched Deni has compared him to Luka. He’s clearly not on that level, still a very good prospect though.

I understand they play different positions, but even in the highlights, I don't see a single moment of athleticism or skill that really "wows"me, and this is unusual for a prospect who will get drafted in this projected range.

Sorry I had a blank, thought you meant Scottie Lewis Red!

Just so we are on the same page, were you talking Scottie or Kira? Because I know Kira has hired an agent.

Red meant Kira. I mistakely believed he was talking about Scottie.

Kira definitely deserves to be in the convo at 7.

Eh, my initial reaction was "shades of Luca." I don't see any special athleticism when I watch Luka play. He has enough athleticism for the 3, a half step quicker and bouncier than McDermott, but insufficient for the 2. What's special about Luka is his combination of skills and feel for the game, a natural basketball IQ that is off the charts.

Deni is kind of similar. He's not as quick as Luka - I view him as a 4, not a 3 - and I think, like Luka, he has enough athleticism for that position. Not special for the NBA, but not deficient, either. More athletic than Niko, for example. I also don't really have any doubt, given his frame, to become strong enough for the NBA over time, naturally. What is intriguing about watching Deni play is that he seems to have a natural feel for the game and varied, all-around skill-set, that he could be special.

Now, he isn't as far along as Luka was, coming in, having not established himself as much in Europe. Deni's shooting is also a bigger red flag than Luka's inconsistency was coming in. He's clearly not as good a prospect. But he's also clearly a top half of lotto prospect in a weaker draft than Luka's.

Deni has shades of Luka in the same way that Victor Khryapa did.

Deni reminds me of Gallanari.

Haliburton makes the most sense.

Deni reminds me more of Hedo Turkoglu. The shooting will be the key, but Deni should be better defensively. Offensively, his game reminds me of Hedo with ball handling, passing, hesitations. The shot is the key.

Khryapa was compared to AK47, but a poo man’s version - a bouncy athlete who had versatile skills, but not known for his feel for the game or basketball IQ. Nice zing, if you ignore that other than being white and about 6’9, the two guys have very little in common as prospects.

If Okoro has a good character and motor he seems to be the chance you take to get a Jimmy/Kawhi/PG type developing star. Something that stood out to me when I watched his highlights was the way he continues to move without the ball and cut. Seems always engaged and has the tools to be great.
You can buy manure outside, from better grazing grounds for your bulls, but if you never cultivate your own feces to flower better weeds you will always look to other side of a fence. - Koristossu

Yep. Evs helped develop Kawhi too.

Okoro is my pick if he’s there at 7.

Watching breakdowns of his game the complaints are only things that come with more reps (i.e. - shooting, countermoves..). And I've seen concerns about Wingspan, but his is definitely longer than Jimmy's and he seems more athletic than Jimmy, too.

I want Deni the most but Okoro is a great fit for what AK and Evs seem to want in a player as well. I would not complain about him at #7 at all.
