How lucky are we to have this dude on our team? (Terence Davis)

Anyone have his synergy pick and roll number? I like the way he slows down like a veteran PG at times, which seems quite rare from non PG rookies. And his handle and passing are intriguing but we didn't see a ton because we have 2 point guards, a high scoring ballhandler in Siakam and even Gasol runs the offense at times, there's really a lot to discuss. He could be anything from a solid 3rd guard to a an all-star I think. We have a few years to decide before he gets that offer sheet you're thinking is low.

TD scores a putrid 0.68 PPP (23rd percentile) as the PnR ball handler this season. For reference, VanVleet peaked at 0.84 PPP (58th percentile) in 2017-18, and Powell peaked at 0.97 PPP (85th percentile) in 2016-17. fwiw I think TD will get much better in this area in the future with more experience and training.

Off topic but you got me thinking. Is OG getting maxed or a huge deal? A lot of young teams with some scoring talent but not much on D like the Kings, Hawks, Cavs, Hornets, T-Wolves, Grizzlies, Mavericks and Pistons could all badly use a guy like him to cover defensively for and space the floor for guys like Doncic, Booker, Trae Young etc...

Can't see OG getting a max deal from anyone. That's $30 million/year at least for someone who barely contributes on offense and doesn't seem to have much upside there. A huge gamble that probably won't pan out as expected.

I think he gets something like 4/60. that probably falls to something like 4/48 if the cap ends up going down.

Robert Covington signed a Powell like contract and is underpaid at $12 million. OG should get around $18-20 based on his trajectory and age. Probably what Capella got.

Defensive SF specialists rarely get that kind of money; OG would really have to up his scoring to get into the $20 mil conversation.

At the moment, OG will likely be in line for the same deal Norm has - the same ballpark as Lord Covington, Justise Winslow, Mo Harkless.

Re-watching games from last year and he's still really standing out. He had a putback jam VS the lakers that I initially thought was Boucher because of where his head was in relation to the rim.

Prior to the championship run, the Raptors had 3 straight 50-60 seasons with 2nd round or better results. 95% of teams never get to that stage. This was done despite the roster being littered with numerous journeyman scrubs, inexperienced, under-developed young players, a coach with suspect decision making and several players often playing awkwardly out of position.....the Raps had major gaps at SF/PF for years. Siakam/OG took time to develop into their existing roles....heck, OG is still a work in progress.

Derozan was a large part of this team's building process which led to their championship. He should get praise for his contributions.
A lot of the hate he gets around here is undeserved. Sometimes people let their emotions cloud their rational judgement. The struggles the Raps had against defending Lebron led teams distorts how much success those pre-championship teams actually had. In hindsight, if Siakam had developed into a legit 2nd option earlier and had the Raps traded for Gasol earlier, the performance of the previous teams could have been even better.

2015-2020 - has been the Golden Era of Raptors basketball. Everything prior to that was trash outside of 1 season back in 2000-2001. Lowry and Derozan are both GOAT Raptors in my books.

I don't argue Demar's contribution to this team at all, but to compare a statistical season of Demar to Lowry's championship year just doesn't make sense. One guy won the ultimate goal.
