we have a ton of time between now and when any of these kids get drafted. If you disagree on a kid now let it be now and then let the rest play out the back and forth THIS EARLY is moot.

Garuba is legit, his understanding of the game is insane for a guy his age, most elite prospects his age have no idea what they are doing on defense, but now look at Garuba. Second best DRtg on a team in ACB already, better than Tavares, Mejri and Randolph. He is 17/18 year old, who you can already put in NBA final series in a small role right now, and he wouldnt be out of place. I dont know for college kids, but he is so much better the prospect than guys like Avdija, its not funny. Avdija can be decent role player, Garuba can be best player on a 50 win team, and thats being conservative.

crazy that the same people that have Avdija top 5 are the same ones putting Garuba at the bottom of the first

^ There is no substance to that statement. You are implying multiple individuals have already placed Garuba at bottom of first round and we are nowhere close to the 2021 draft. Where's the evidence?

And again, my issue was never with Garuba's potential, but with your statement saying he was a top 6 prospect.

I kind of get what you are saying, but 6'9 guys with switchability and solid athleticism who have Avdija's handles, defensive motor and reported work ethic don't come along often.

It feels like every year that there is a good "combo big" prospect that comes along. This year, a lot of people think that is Okongwu. Last year, it was Sekou. The year before, it was Bagley, Carter Jr., and Jackson Jr. In 2017, it was Markkanen, Collins, and Adebayo. And these guys, for the most part, were bigger and/or longer than Garuba.

He was the 3rd best defensive player in ACB this year, period, at age 17-18

half those guys are not combo bigs

Markkanen is a straight up 4
Collins is a 4
Carter is a straight up 5

only combo bigs that have been projected in the top5 the last few years are JJJ and Oneyka, and Bam was underrated but still went lotto...Garuba is like exactly Onyeka/Bam size pretty much

Jackson Jr. was just an anomaly, with legit 5 size and wingspan with real defense and the mobility/skills of a 4 with an outside shot on top of it...not sure how he didn't go over a guy like Bagley who actually was the one that was overrated because he was the one actually in no mans land in terms of overall skill set

Sekou can only dream being as good as Garuba in my opinion, its not a good comparison. Yes, maybe that archetype of those type of playerscomes often, but I think Garuba is best among those in a considerable margin. To me its almost like saying do not draft Harden, because combo guards comes every year. I am not saying he will be MVP caliber player, but this kid is as legit as it gets.
