Pretty much. I'm gonna guess high and drunk. I read one of the commenters who broke down the video stated that it appeared that lost control of his vehicle when we swerved to avoid a parked one? I didn't get to watch this one yet so I can't judge. TBH, these continuing incidents of violent rage towards peacefully protesting Americans are getting hard to watch for me. My YT page has filled up with videos of cops terrorizing, if not assaulting, "suspects" when the don't get their dicks stroked the right way. I believe "triggering" is the proper word.

Trump's strongest non-white base is American-Hindus, many of whom are completely down with Modi's hindu nationalism that sponsors pogroms against Indian muslims. This POV can also produce racism against American blacks that would result in strong resentment against anything BLM-related. It is not universally true, but it is pretty amazing how many Americans of Indian descent love Trump.

As an African American that’s way worse to me the police shootings but we never do anything to stop it. No protest no hashtags nothing. Blaming the “white man” looks like gets you good publicity so we won’t hear from lebron on this topic

I forget who I saw explain this on TV or YT (and it bothers me now because of his eloquence in discussing it) but he simply pointed out that by saying "Black Lives Matter" we're not saying that black live matter more than yours; just that they matter. It's not a high bar that they're asking for. This country was built on their backs for crying out loud, which makes me a bigger supporter of reparations. Immigrants and slaves built this country which is a great thing to keep in mind as we celebrate this holiday. Who the fck are we going to be as a country going forward?

How much do you figure your share of reparations should be, Wingo? Give me a number.

Who, specifically, should get reparations? Who, specifically, should pay it? What would your formula be for figuring out exactly who and how much a person would get paid and how much a given person would owe?

Sidenote: Why are Democratic run municipalities such cesspools of systemic racism? If they care as much as they profess to about black communities why don't they clean up their police brutality issues? Seems simple enough. Zero evil GOP influence. Just do it and have your utopia. What's holding you back?

Last I checked I don't pay the people that killed that girl and they'll be charged to the fullest extent of the law when found.

DiBlasio just slashed a billion dollars from the NYPD budget. Hopefully, it's just the start. AOC has come out criticizing it.

The NYPD is losing more than $1 billion in funding — including canceling the July recruit class and overtime cuts — with the money transferred to social-welfare programs, in the fallout from the George Floyd protests, Mayor Bill de Blasio said Tuesday.

The head count of officers will go down by the end of the year to 34,837 from about 36,000, with the patrol force supplemented by reassigning cops now doing desk jobs, de Blasio said, promising the budget cuts wouldn’t jeopardize public safety.

Among the “NYPD reinvestments”: from the police operating budget,

$115 million for summer youth programs;
$116 million for education;
$134 million for family and social services; from the capital budget,
$450 million for public housing and parks facilities; and
$67 million for broadband internet in the city’s housing projects, according to a slide presentation at de Blasio’s daily news conference.

“Our young people need to be reached. Not policed, reached,” de Blasio said.

The curbing of overtime won’t affect emergencies, he said.

“Look, we’re gonna have some exceptional moments, and we’re gonna have to deal with those unto themselves,” he said. “What we’re talking about is the kind of overtime that is normally relied upon.”

In the first two weeks alone of the Floyd protests, the city spent $115 million on police overtime, which is more than four times the amount spent in the same period in 2019.

The total municipal budget de Blasio is proposing for the upcoming fiscal year — which starts Wednesday — is $88.1 billion. It is to be voted on later Tuesday by the City Council, with just hours until the budget is due under 1970s-era fiscal crisis rules.

The budget is billions less than the $95 billion he proposed earlier this year, before the coronavirus pandemic devastated city tax coffers. Already, the city has lost $9 billion in revenue, he’s said.

For more than a week, there’s been an encampment of hundreds outside New York City Hall — where de Blasio works — demanding at least $1 billion in NYPD cuts.

Like more than 140 places in the United States, the city has been the site of protests demanding changes to policing, since May 25’s bystander-recorded death of Floyd while a cop in Minneapolis knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes.

On Tuesday at his news conference, de Blasio shrugged off criticism from some left-leaning groups who have accused the mayor of playing budgetary shell games — reaching $1 billion in NYPD cuts by moving crossing guards and school security guards to other municipal agencies, for instance.

“Some people are never happy,” he said.

Hopefully, they will cut it to zero. High crime areas will reap the rewards!

Since I'm a civil rights attorney and black lives matter supporter, I get a professional discount. You, on the other, have to pay the full amount.

But I'm a Trump supporter. We instituted criminal justice reform and our administration has resulted in the lowest black unemployment levels in history. Republicans fought and died to end slavery. I think I'm the one who should be getting the discount.

As for the employment numbers, we can thank Obama for that since we know that Trump just rode his coattails. This issue is income disparity. I'm not ready to go down this fox hole right now. It'll force me to do research and I'm just not up for it right now.

personally I don't care if you support it or not but it's funny I was on the phone with my mom today who said this entire thing word for word verbatim to me, the talking points against BLM to avoid having to say it and support it by people who never would have to begin with are all so coordinated. I mean these are the same people who for years never wanted to support it and were carrying on about blue lives and all lives and now want to concern troll about marxism because of one individual as a way to avoid it, as if that is representative of the entire movement which is basically worldwide at this point. the funny thing though is that your final paragraph pointing out the elite class and the working class aka modern day serfdom is basically the exact same critique marx had about the capitalist system. there is no race war and nobody is angling for one other than reactionaries who need to turn this into one because they don't want working class people to be united across racial lines.
