NY Knicks 2020 Draft Big Board #12 Pick - 24 Hours to VOTE

Post#1 » by mpharris36 » Sun Jul 5, 2020 5:13 pm

The game is simple. There will always be a list of players you can vote on plus one write in option called "other" if you feel the BPA for the knicks isn't able to be voted on. Every day I will tally see who had the most votes and that player will be off the board. Then we will go down #2 and #3 pick ect.....Once someone comes off the list and they win I will add another player to the list (maybe based on write-in options)

You can comment below on why your voting for the above player you selected. Lets also try to keep this Knicks related since a general big board probably doesn't make sense. This game is if you are the knicks GM what would your big board consist of.

NY Knicks Consensus Big Board:

#1 - LaMelo Ball
#2 - Anthony Edwards
#3 - James Wiseman
#4 - Killian Hayes
#5 - Deni Avdija
#6 - Tyrese Haliburton
#7 - Onyeka Okongwu
#8 - Cole Anthony
#9 - Kira Lewis
#10 - Obi Toppin
#11 - Devin Vassell
4-Peat! 22-25 BAF Champion Spurs:

ROSTER

Walker Kessler/Daniel Gafford/Adem Bona
Nikola Jokic/Santi Aldama/Isaiah Stewart
Aaron Nesmith/Josh Hart/Jaime Jaquez
Alex Caruso/Keon Ellis/Justin Champagnie
Steph Curry/Chris Paul/Ryan Rollins

Every year, every draft there are at least 5 players picked outside of the lottery that end up being better than the lottery picks and/or become stars themselves.

Who are this years candidates?

Only one I know of that I believe will follow suit is Tre Jones.

Click share on the youtube video, then there should be a link you can copy, after that you just paste the link here.

Here's a video of Deni breaking a film of his season at Maccabi Tel Aviv with a draft analyst from NBA on ESPN.

Shouldn't you post this in the main draft thread instead of the thread meant for voting who should be 12th on the Knicks Big Board? Especially since Avdija was already picked?

Not really a huge fan of any of these guys.

Have not seen Pokusevski play but ill be honest the "highlight" vids leave me with an awkward vibe about where the NBA fit is. Yes he shows unusual skills but I'm not sure the NBA is ready for him nor him for the NBA yet lol. Just not feeling it.

Okoro more and more is throwing off the Stanley Johnson vibe to me. He has an impressive LB type body but I don't think his defense translates as NBA elite and I'm seriously dubious about his his offensive upside. He's a fighter though so he should still be a player in the NBA.

RJ Hampton has bust written all over him and the only reason he may not be one is because its been years since he was still living under the hype cloud he was probably unfairly placed under. His game just isn't mature in any area and he doesn't look like he's improved overseas. He's all over the place with his offensive and defensive actions. Like a chicken with its head cut off.

Tyrese Maxey is a powerfully built 6'3" PG with NBA level physical tools but without NBA level (or even college level) PG skills. If he can shoot or showed he was consistently able to create for himself then maybe a short SG would work but he's not shown that he's consistent on any aspect offensively.

Nesmith is a low ceiling guy and while he has a defined NBA skill i just don't see picking him here.

Maledon is throwing a too close to a Frank vibe for me. I don't see a real NBA starting future for him.

I'll go with Tyrell Terry here.

Yeah I see a bit of the Trae like game that folks are saying even down to the kinda odd but very effective shot. Trae is more talented though.

But Terry has the best mix of upside and skill here. He really needs to get stronger but the way he plays I think he'll be able to get there.

Going with a write in with the next pick as there's a guy that I think is better than the rest thats on this board from an NBA standpoint.

yeah, he's still playing in Greece's B division b/c he's not physically ready yet. When KP came over he weighed 233, Poku is even slighter at around 200. It'll probably take a couple years to add the weight he needs

really like him as a prospect and he kind of reminds me of the KP situation. KP originally declared in 2014 and was projected around a mid-late 1st rounder, but opted out of the draft, returned in 2015 to become a top 5 pick. Maybe Poku has a similar trajectory, making it wise to invest in him

At the same time, I also really like Nesmith and Bey (who should be added to subsequent polls IMO), both of who can help right away w/ their ability so space the floor

Yep. But that's fine because everything else* on the Knicks is a looooong way off. Unless Leon Rose goes star-f***ing.

* Except for Frank, obviously.

Williams or Vassell? (I haven't seen an honest spit of either - only curated highlights.)
