It's a bit odd how his career ended. He was having a solid year with the Mavs before he joined the Cavs and was productive in his role there as well. Throughout the playoffs, he was solid in limited minutes up until the Finals where it just fell apart. It seemed he was like screw this and retired, because he probably could have played longer if he wanted.

Right, the Nets bought out the last two years of his contract. He was playing ball for Mavs and Cavs those two years, so he was hardly sitting at home. And the Nets were, of course, only paying the difference between his Nets contract and what Cleveland and Dallas were paying him during those two years.

As a Nets fan all I can say is......

I remember when we got Deron during the whole Melo drama back then. It seemed like the trade came out of nowhere. He was no even on our radar. Then we heard we got him and everyone was ecstatic.

Really? He was a mediocre player the two years prior with a .504 and .530TS%.

I used to think Deron Williams was almost as good as Chris Paul, but when I look back at it, it really wasn't even close from the beginning.

D.Will could ball whenever he felt like it. His ankles and mental state weren't there when he got here. No hard feelings here. His wife Amy is a class act and they got great happy family.
Things happen for better. Without learning his lesson Prok wouldn't even entertain hiring guru like Marks. He thought he could do same crap as his friend Abramovic ( FC Chelsea owner ) and buy title. Not how it works in NBA.

WC & Gallo missed hundreds of games after that deal went down. Moz is out of the league. Felton came back two years later. They got a late lottery first VS UTA getting the 3rd pick. The best thing in that deal was the pick swap of 9 to 7!that landed them Murray.

Favors is better IMO than WC or Gallo at their best.

I looked up his career stats. His third season was incredible. He played all 82 games and averaged 19/11 on 51/40/80 and his team went 54-28. They beat Rockets 4-2 in the first round despite not having HCA.
