Or herd immunity?

Wonder how many KD these guys have already had it. NBA should be doing antibody tests too.

Immunity seems impossible given the tiny sample. Expect more players to test positive, names might not be released but those in the circle may be able to do a 2+2 and figure out who.

Or herd immunity?

It doesn't look like it's a one and done type thing either. A whole lot of unknowns... but plenty of reports of being getting it multiple times to make it quite worrisome.

yeah, i'm not sure that telling a young, rich, famous athlete that he's already had it is necessarily the safest course of action

The NBA needs Zion to be amazing and for the Pelicans to turn into a dynasty.

if the league could lock in zion signing with the knicks when his rookie deal is complete they'd do it immediately

I really think they should've gone World Cup format. Made it a short 1-month spectacle. This is obviously the asterisk of all asterisk seasons. Could've done the one month training/pre-season and then gone to 3 group stage games to decide the playoff brackets, into a really fun 2-week elimination tournament. Formed 4x4 groups based on reg. season record (with 16 teams, plus maybe 8 more if they wanted to still do the play-in tournament) and let it run.

Passing four 7-game series with the COVID risk factor looming large? My goodness, whoever wins will deserve a marathon trophy on top of the finals. But it's gonna have less to do with basketball and more with luck and safety protocol.

agree with most of this, but i don't see anything they ended up doing turning into much of a spectacle. not w/o packed arenas. remember how much the dream team practices were made to be the stuff of legend? then you see some of it in 'the last dance' and it seems like...a practice. a competitive practice involving elite talent, but a practice nonetheless. i don't think i'll be watching much of whatever they put out there

Would hurt the Pels too much. The Knicks need to develop their own stars. Until they do it will be another Melo situation.

it would hurt the pels as much as it would help the knicks. if zion is only as good as melo, then your initial statement is moot. if he's amazing enough to turn the pelicans into a dynasty, the league would rather have him do that in the #1 market instead of the 2nd smallest market in the league

F*cking Gar man. He tried pulling a Krause and it failed badly. No wonder Jimmy's camp also trashed him on the way out

They'll probably add recorded fan cheers, like they do in Europe, for football (soccer) games. I don't know how much would that help when you see the empty sits.

they could do the old school organ music throughout the game. probably wouldn't help much though

I don't get why the Nets are signing Crawford and Beasley as replacement players for the bubble. They're both old and they both suck. Is there really no young guy worth testing out available?

I hope so, because Imo this season should have been cancelled long ago.

I understand being against the NBA restart given the circumstances, but rooting for the whole thing to fail now makes no sense to me. It would be terrible for the entire league.

Perhaps, but I applaud them for at least making an effort to salvage the season.

Honestly at this point i'm a bit indifferent to the whole thing, its been 4 months and I really don't miss sports all that much, I've found multiple other sources of entertainment and picked up a couple of hobbies, i'm about TV'd out with so much time being spent at home already, so if/when this returns, i'm not positive that i'll redirect my attention back. If anything I'll likely go from semi-rabid fan that watched a game 5-6 nights a week to maybe just checking scores on my phone to see who won, perhaps watching an elimination game if they make it that far, and i'm not optimistic that they will

So two things happened with one stone: obviously Deng was very important to Thibs. He campaigned and went as far as running the ball through Luol to prove a point. Effectively destroyed the structure at the top of the command chain - I don’t think Noah made for a great leader, he’s an eccentric character and his offensive game had nothing.

In the end, Deng still got a 30/3 deal from Miami (much better weather btw). But why bargain so hard and throw an ultimatum at your longest-tenure leader? Especially when the coach is obviously so high on him? Could’ve done a 2y extension.

This is the behind the scenes stuff I wondered about. I was excited about the chance of re-loading with a Melo in free agency as much as the next guy, but it’s like Gar had no pulse on anybody’s emotions or interests.

Well now that's he's gone, we are finally getting the inside dirt of why the bulls FO got a bad rep

I know everyone's down and out about the COVID NBA play-offs, but I'm still stoked and hopefully they happen all the way through.

So I thought BRK should forfeit, but with them being able to sign replacements like Jamal Crawford... hey, let's see what happens. It would be hilarious if some totally unexpected Big 3 or G-League players got the call.

Return to Chicago Bulls
