Hell yeah. Hope Frank can get a regular contract out of this. Great for the player, great sign of a healthy organization.
If Jaylen Adams doesn’t make the NBA he has the makings to be one of the top handful of American guards in Europe for the next decade. Big balls, deep range shot maker.

Frank is still under a 2 way deal for next season isn't he?
Also Frank Mason & Jaylen Adams made 1st team all G League, Jemarrio Jones was 3rd team

That’s cool. Counts as a Herd callup.

And his contract goes to next season - partially guaranteed. Very smart move by Detroit's brand new GM - his first player move as a GM.

Jaylen Adams signed with Portland. 3rd Herd call up this season, not counting the two way guys. That seems like a pretty successful season

Hell yeah! What a season for the Herd. Best team in the league all season. Call ups for Tucker, Adams and Patton. Dragan Bender definitely benefited & arguably doesn’t get picked up right away without his productive months in Oshkosh. League MVP in Frank Mason. This is all I’ve ever wanted out of my bizarre niche fascination with the G-league. We’re likely to have only one more year with Coach Buford before he gets called up to an NBA bench (hopefully the Bucks, after Darvin Ham gets a HC gig) Let’s keep it coming!

I think it's Charles Lee who gets the next HC gig, there doesn't seem to be much interest in Ham yet. He's destined to be the Bud to Bud's Popovich.

For sure. I just named Ham because I hope be gets the call. Lee too, but he’s young enough to spend a couple more years under Bud.

Nope. Dude was brutal. Was sitting across from a young black female executive with the Skyhawks, praying she didn’t hear. She heard.
SMH. Should've been escorted out.
Tori Miller got promoted. Good for her.

Jaylen Adams is rumored to be among the candidates for the Panathinaikos' PG spot. I guess it will depend on how he fares for Portland, if he gets NBA gtd money, he won't go overseas

Re: Wisconsin Herd Thread
Random question, but during the signing window, could we have signed somebody to a rest of year deal with a small guarantee on next season and then not brought them to Orlando?

Luke Maye will be taking his talents to the picturesque northern Italian city of Trento. Was a solid contributor in his rookie season with the Herd, hope he has a good Euro career.
Wouldn’t be shocked to see Jock Landale in Oshkosh next season, either on a 2 way or training camp deal. Opted out of his Euroleague contract to pursue an NBA deal. Was down to Landale and Bender for the last roster spot a year ago.

Most players seem to be avoiding the G-League option this year, as it's much, much safer financially to go overseas considering how Covid affects USA and G-League economics & starting date.
Landale was very good around the basket and has a pretty jumpshot, but defensively he was among the worst 5 or so major-minute Center in Euroleague last season. I don't think this will translate any better in the NBA

Who in your opinion are the top five defensive bigs in the Euroleague? From what I’ve seen there’s Walter Tavares, Kyle Hines and then a huge cliff. Landale does foul a lot but I think it’d benefit his game and career to play in a more wide open system right now. Would be a great development opportunity, even if he eventually heads back overseas. See no reason Jock can’t carve out a similar role to someone like Mike Muscala, who Bud first developed as rookie coming from Europe.

Re: Wisconsin Herd Thread
Is this a serious question??? The top-5 Cs defensively are probably Tavares-Hines-Hunter-Dunston, and someone from the Mickey-Tarczewski-Nnoko-Vesely tier (this tier is probably not objective)
Landale's issue is that he is not bad only in one aspect of D like most EL Cs are, but he is bad at all of them. He doesn't offer resistance the rim, he is bad at switching to smaller players, when someone above 6'8" is posting him up it's an automatic basket/foul.

Fair, forgot about the old stalwarts in Hunter and Dunston. At the very least I’d like to get the Australian in on a $50k training camp deal and see how he looks with the Herd.

Re: Wisconsin Herd Thread
He will get a contract much closer to the 7 digits than to 50k, if he changes his mind about EL next year. Best G-League big and scoring title candidate if he goes this route.
edit: Both Herd Guards were rumored to have an offer from Panathinaikos, but they declined in order to pursue their NBA prospects. Mason has looked good in few minutes, Can't remember seeing Jaylen play in any of the Portland games I saw.
