Some Warrior fans I’ve spoken with said they are willing to trade their top pick for RJ.
I would take RJ #2 after Wiseman
If Warriors get #1 and wants to trade it for RJ yeah I’ll pull the trigger then draft Wiseman. Would like to have seen these two friends and both former Gatorade Players of the Year play together though.
Under this scenario who would you like to pair with Wiseman if we get let’s say the #1 and #7 picks?
**** that scenario.. only because this draft to me is wack past number 4..

Question:
So what happens on the PnR when teams constantly go under screens cause LaMelo can't hit a 3? How do the other parts of his game positively affect games?
Answer:
They don't.
Ricky Rubio has never really shot the ball particularly well in his career and has had a positive impact on the court offensively.
Yeah but Ricky plays defense

Ricky Rubio has never really shot the ball particularly well in his career and has had a positive impact on the court offensively.
Exactly, only on offense.
That is why Rubio, who was one of the most hyped European guards in history, has been on multiple teams but few playoff appearances.
THe Knicks need a good shooter at the point and it's not even debatable. This is why I can see Ball slipping to 4 or 5 in this year's draft.
Most players play for multiple teams, not sure how that’s a slight on Rubio. Plus he’s spent his whole career in the west, playing for some bad organizations(wolves/Sun) while having a positive net rating 6 of the 9 years he’s played. Before Thibs, Rubio and Love were the closest to leading the Wolves to the playoffs and won like 44 games. So it’s possible effect the game positively without a jumper. Especially when you’re an elite playmaker like LaMelo and Rubio.
I agree the Knicks need shooting but it’s not our number one priority. We need superstar talent first and foremost regardless of fit. No one wins without superstars and we don’t have one on the roster and I say that as someone who’s super high on RJ. LaMelo has more elite characteristics(playmaking, handles, positional size) than anyone else in this draft. He’s going to fix his jumper so I’m not really worried about it but I hope you’re right about him falling that far cuz it will make it easier for us to trade up from 7.

Lamelo shoots 37% from the field and 25% from 3 along with minimal defense. There hasn’t been anyone with a TS as low as 46% that became a star. Lamelo will have to make history. I wouldn’t take those odds

Yea, that is the thing with LaMelo and even RJ Hampton. It was a small sample size in a different league while they were making a big adjustment. It is tough to compare them to college or even other Euro players. It's just a much different situation.

The competition over there is equivalent to D3 basketball. It’s pretty weak

LaMelo struggled the first 6 games.
Over the last 6 games he averaged 22.0 points, 9.2 boards and 8.2 assists with shooting splits of 40/31/75.
He was def coming around.

As someone who went to a D3 college, there were exactly 0 former nba players on any of the rosters in our division.

The shooting splits aren't that bad especially considering the context. The big thing is it looks like he can get better.
Its against grown men so it's more physical and tougher in that way. The competition is tougher then UIC and South Carolina State. This league has dudes taller then 6'7".
