He can 100% start in the NBA at some point in his career if he keeps developing, yes. What kind of questions was that lol.

Drafting Tillman would be alarming to me. The league is and has been moving away from that type of player. It’s obvious. We need athletes, we need speed, we need shooters, we need spacing... the Knicks LACK all of that. Tillman helps NONE of that.

At some point in his career if he keeps developing? I mean seriously that applies to like 95% of the dudes in the draft, you aren't saying much. I'm asking is he an NBA starter right now? He clearly isn't so lets not get ahead of ourselves here talking about this dude like he's all that when he's got a loooong way to go.

Tillman is only of one of our options, if we were looking to add some bench depth but he's not a must have player. There are plenty of dudes I like at that 27th spot, Tillman is just a better option to have at 27 than wasting a lotto pick on Hachuwa. There are always dudes with speed and athleticism to be had for cheap and that alone won't get you anywhere. I'd look to invest these picks into perimeter guys and then try to dump Randle in the offseason while trying to sign Christian Wood but absolutely not wasting a pick on Hachuwa.

Oof signing Christian Wood......

Just gonna have to agree to disagree here. We ain’t ready to win yet. Take high reward guys not backup building blocks. Achiuwa’s potential is strong. Can’t believe you’re throwing the “can he start in the nba” at me right now lol. Really none of these guys can if you’re trying to win a championship next season.

I’m looking to grow, you’re looking to dig.

What high reward are you talking about? What skills does this dude have? You want to blow a pick on a dude because he is athletic? Marquese Chriss had potential too, doesn't mean much. The dude you are talking about is not that good, he's got long ways to go to even become a reliable NBA backup. I mentioned Jalen Smith earlier, that kid comes with potential as well as actual NBA skills currently. I have no idea what you are talking about here with the "I'm looking to grow, you're looking to dig" comment. I'm sure there is a team that can take him and develop him over time into a decent rotation player, but you think this dude has some star potential I'm going to strongly disagree.

the knicks to break this cycle are gonna have to get lucky and draft a star. that's the only way out.

I usually go to 2 or 3 games a year. I'd probably go to more if the team didn't suck. I'll root for a tank but I won't pay to watch one.

fair, but would you be more apt to go to a tank game if you knew they were going to play all the young guys so you got to see some of the future. I would probably support that over seeing Randle spin in the paint 20 times a game and get his meaningless 20 and 10. I went to zero games this year because I would not support this horrendous offseason.

At the end of the day the tickets will be bought regardless because of MSG the venue.

I usually go to opening night to see the new team/draft pick first game, and maybe a another game in November or December before all hope has been lost. On rare occasions I may go to a game after a trade is made (like when we acquired DSJ) or to a game I think has some significance (melo first game back at msg, KP first game back at msg). But usually after new year's I don't go.

I'd love to go to a playoff game but there hasn't been once since I moved here and I don't anticipate one in the near future.

How sad is it that you have an arena like madison square garden go decades with virtually no playoff games, it's really a tragedy

it really is. I dont see a major FA coming in 2021, and to acquire one via trade is difficult, sometimes counterproductive if you have to give up too much (I like Booker, but he's not the #1 star on a contender)

I do think we have a good start tho. We got really lucky with our 2018 1st rounder Mitch (dont tell me otherwise; Knox, who?) and even tho he's not Zion or Ja, RJ is a nice player who I think will have a great career. The game is trending towards wings who can playmake and create their own shot, both of which RJ showed he can do, and I assume he'll continue to improve based on his work ethic

the strategy they are employing now to try to be a 30 win team isn't going to help those odds.

when have we played young guy mostly for an entire season?

Fans boo because the product sucks and this team has had no direction in 20 years.

Its not because we aren't good. Fans aren't stupid...a lot of times booing is frustration because we sucked and had no draft picks. Now the booing is we suck and have to see guys like Randle/Portis/Ellingotn/Payton playing who have zero chance to be long term options for the knicks.

If they came out and said we are developing the young guys and show patience...there wasn't much booing during FIz first year because fans set there expectations...there was a lot more booing this year because of the mercenaries signed and then the results piled on.

The fans just want effort...and direction.

have you ever seen fans boo when the knicks are winning on the court ? they'll root for julius randle or bobby portis or whoever as long as they're beating the other team. fans who attend a game want to see their team win. it's kind of the whole point.

the fans attending games are majority tourist...the tickets are way too expensive for casual and even die hard fans to get too consistently. I can't even blame fans for booing. Knicks have been so bad it is def deserved. Sometimes its for the best. Isiah and Mills would probably still be here if it wasn't for boo'ing so sometimes it works out.

It still falls 100% on Dolan and management. Dolan has just has no clue. He def has a very short sighted approach to things and really no understanding of basketball at all. Hopefully Rose can talk some sense and be much better. Then maybe some luck will come our way.

w/ the new flattened odds, a 30-win team aint so bad. in fact, it kinda strikes a balance between having a pretty good shot at a top pick and being somewhat competitive.

~30 wins gets you in the 6-9 range of the lottery which is still ~20-37% chance at top 4. even if you tank and finish w/ the worst record, there's ~48% chance you pick #5, which is pretty high, basically a coin flip

if they draft this guy it will be because he can't do nothing with the ball

Spoiler:
yes, i just wanted to post this pic again.

we were 6-9 (.400) after the morris trade and 15-36 (.294) before the morris trade, we will be ok 8-)

how many of those 6 wins were against teams smart enough to tank early

You will have lots of Frank-furters and Ty-burgers and you will like them.

Oladipo/C. Stanley
RJ/Knox
Woods/William's
Mitch

I would be a happy camper.

I had Woods ranked 7th in his draft, he wound up going undrafted. I feel a little bit better with people actually wanting him now.
