Can't get into a bidding war if no one wants the player...

then people will realize when there is a brook lopez bidding war or Marc Gasol and have to go multiple years but only had to commit to one year for nothing...or you could even work with me and I can lessen the impact by taking a bad contract back for free.

Makes you wonder what his real impact is going to be :D

There's not a situation that Cam Reddish doesn't have a response to.

I believe "ostrich-like versatility" was part of his scouting report.

This free agency is going to be a big disappointment for most of you GMs

You're either going to see your targets stay on the teams that have their bird rights or you're going to have to overpay. Either way, most of you will end up screwed.

The rich will get richer. The middle-class & poor will have to pay top dollar for table scraps. Basically BaF has morphed into American Economics.

you don't have a $40 contract... :)

and you could have just buy them out for $80 instead of $100 so it makes no sense for you.

But someone who doesn't want a player on there team and can rid the 2nd round of there contract for a more productive player like Dwight it would make sense.

Facts. The system is at work. Basically it honors teams who competed from day one and now they are being rewarded. And the teams that went the tank route and wish to enjoy the benefits of spending cash in free agency are seeing their chickens come home to roost.

free agent rating are not a huge deal when it came to securing free agents last year.. only unknown is how much more will you have to pay if you cannot offer that 5th year

Stop fibbing. I personally lost a bid last year due to free agency rating/ranking. For instance teams like the Warriors, Bulls, and Blazers have a huge advantage over you. You are self-consoling in hopes of not having to open your wallet as wide as you likely will have to.

im not lying the difference is like $10-$15 per year when you are looking at $100+ contracts which is not a big deal for me

yup I think the system makes perfect sense. If you worked hard to build a winner you get rewarded. The teams building through the draft and losing have an extra hurdle to jump if they plan on being a player in FA.

You can combat that a bit by there being 4 FA categories...you would either need to have a very young team or have a star.

player happiness probably will go to the winning teams as well so you are already working on 2 less categories.

We'll see how this plays out. But you will either have to pay up or see your targets sign elsewhere. I know you are just talking to talk so I don't see you signing any big fish anyway. You will go bargain basement shopping and pat yourself on the back for fiscal responsibility since you know you don't have it in you to pay what it'll take to sign top tier free agents.

That's a lie, even in your instance you know you had to pay $100+ to even compete with Dallas $60 offer for Bogdanovic, I got more examples but stop playing with the newer GM's giving them false hope. 10-15$?
