You seem to be a resilient human being, which is admirable. You've been tested by experience, & you've come through as a whole person. I admire you for that.

On this board, you're thoughtful, fair-minded, & open. Doesn't mean you're always right. No one's always right. Then again, no one's keeping score! As you say in your signature, "RealGM is for fun."

Here's one thing I'm pretty sure you are right about: Jalen Smith is almost certain be be a better pro than Rui Hachimura. Rui is a nice kid, of course. & he looks like he can play in the NBA. But, Smith posted really outstanding numbers at Maryland this year. & took a big jump too -- which is a positive indicator.

If we traded down & got him around where he is projected on most mock drafts, we'd be doing extremely well (all the more in that a trade down would bring us another pick as well).

pif, I want to extend to you more than a simple thanks -- you're thoughts mean the world to me. Bless you, sir! :)
Bye bye Beal.

Filip Petrusev said his plan is to stay in the NBA Draft. Very productive player at Gonzaga last year and would be a nice add if he fell late or went undrafted

He might as well stay in the draft, because he's signed with a Serbian team. Maybe draft and stash? https://www.slipperstillfits.com/2020/7/20/21331422/filip-petrusev-gonzaga-nba-draft-decision

I don't recall -- have we talked about Robert Woodard II at #37? Any take on him?

Looks good on the numbers & in his highlights. Will be available mid-R2. Guy to keep an eye on.

My guy. He showed up in the stats I look for even as a freshman, and has improved with work.

The 3 of us often disagree or even bicker -- but on this we are of one mind. If he's there at 37, don't get cute: grab him!

In fact, Tillman might be the strongest argument for making that 2-for trade with Boston (also might be the reason they won't want to make the trade!).

Another possibility that I hadn't considered: given how Vernon Carey seems to be dropping, it's conceivable he'll be there at #37. It'd be hard to argue against picking him.

If Diakite or Tillman are there at 37, I’m picking one of them and will be thrilled.

Can’t yet say I trust Tommy to do it however.

For me, the guy I want most at 37 is Paul Reed if he's there. Just a very versatile defensive player who was really good at DePaul last year.

Agreed. I also think he thrives once he settles in as a role player and limits his playmaking/ball handling. He gets caught up doing too much sometimes, but his rebounding and defense are already pro level.

I think this is pretty accurate, guys. When you watch Paul Reed he really does look like an NBA player. I don't think he's there at #37, however. :(

I think Reed could be there at 37, but it's because he just didn't impress me when I watched him, tbh. But I do agree that he has potential - if he works really hard.

The potential really lies here in his 3 point shot which should be fixable and I give him promise with the respectable 74% free throw percentage. Defensively he is already very advanced and can really rebound the ball. Fwiw, both CBS and B/R don't have them mocked in their first 30 picks. I just think he's too talented and was too productive to pass at 37.

Agreed, but I think he also needs to spend a lot more time in the gym to add strength and more muscle mass. A guy like Brandon Clarke was able to be very effective with a relatively small body, but Clarke's a superior athlete. I don't think Reed is at that level athletically.

Unless someone even more promising is still on the board....

Do you have Paul Reed rated above Tyler Bey? Vernon Carey?

Not challenging -- just asking.
