Find it funny that people have said they don't want Okoro because he can't shoot and then state they want Ball.

If you are a guard and are getting drafted in top 5, shooting ability should be one of your top strengths ... especially for today's NBA.

First one I've seen that has Hayes at #1. This draft is hard to call. Should be fun to watch.

I like Hayes and Halliburton as my guards. Outside of that, I have no idea about the rest of the positions since guards are so dire for us right now.

Hayes is intriguing for a lot of reasons but we're deep af at both spots.

Luke, Brown, Rose, Svi, Bone, Thomas might all be on the roster fighting for minutes

You guys have convinced me. I didn't realize Ball was Ben Simmons almost when it comes to shooting. I thought he could shoot somewhat but that push shot is awful.

Im all in for Killian Hayes. He has no right hand but at least he can shoot. Plus him and Sekou are boys.

Lonzo had a horrible shot and increased his 3 ball by 8%. Shooting can be developed. The way Lamelo creates for others is a special talent and isnt something you necessarily pass on. Lamelo makes Luke, wood, sekou etc instantly better.

Just because we have a lot of guards doesn't mean we're deep and this team is so bad that we parade second rounders like theyre the legitimate future. The Pistons are the only team in the NBA that has ignored getting a starter level playmaking guard for over 10 years. Downright embarrassing and theres no way they pass up a point guard because bone and khyri thomas are on the team. Rose has a year left and Kennard can and should easily be traded. We are not deep in its truest sense.

But we're in a rebuild, remember. This draft should be for the future, not opening night.

Bone, Thomas, Rose & Brown are irrelevant to the decision.

This.

We are at the very bottom of the barrel talent-wise. So we aren't deep anywhere w/regards to getting quality minutes.
This draft is so flawed from that aspect that you really can't afford to draft by position of need. Beggars can't be choosers. Just grab the player available most likely to give you value back later on. If that happens to be a guard then so be it.

I'm not locking up the roster spot for any of those guys in the near future. This goes for virtually all positions in our team right now, 1 to 5.

As far as I'm concerned, it's an open field in terms of locking up any semblance of young and new talent.

Haliburton
Advija
Wiseman

Those 3 are really interesting to me. I love the leadership that Advija brings to the table. Wiseman got the tools to be great and Haliburton is one of the safest picks of this draft.

IF a guard is the BPA then sure take him but from what I've seen I'm hoping Okoro falls to us at 5.

Wiseman
Edwards
Ball
Okungwu
Okoro
Hayes

Those are my top 6 prospects based on what I've read

I'm down for Hayes as well.

I'm nervous of Lamelo. Dudes quit on his team on every level he's played.

Doesn't matter if I'm top 5 im taking

Edwards
Wiseman
Hayes
Toppin
Okoro

I wanna like Haliburton but will he be able to create separation and get his shot off at the next level?

I don't think any team in the NBA would consider itself "deep" if those are the guys filling those spots. To me, those spots are still empty on the Pistons roster(especially after looking at those names).

Anyone have an opinion on Hayes vs Kira Lewis Jr?

Hayes often gets mocked top 3, but Kira seems to have more speed, handles, ambidexterity, 3 point shot and I feel like if we gave him a starting job, he'd quickly improve within a couple years like Fox or Sexton did recently. Bonus would be potentially being able to trade down to get him and maybe grab someone like Saddiq Bey if we get an extra pick.

I like both of them, but are their ceilings De'Aaron Fox vs D'Angelo Russel? Because Fox has sneakily been the better player this past year with better FG%, 3P%, AST, steals/blocks, much better defense, and better advanced stats across the board.
