It's doable up to a certain level, but usually when the elite grapplers get to the top 15 it slows down. They have a much smaller pool of opponents that make any sense to fight at that point and when you add guys facing each other to the guys that won't accept the fight; the challenge of finding a valid opponent becomes really daunting.

For Hall, he finally hit a point where he straight up started listing names in two divisions and saying "any of you, anyone, just someone fight me that's ranked" and that ended with him accepting a fight with...Ricardo Lamas, unranked and 1-3 in his last 4 fights. :banghead:

Then why Dana simply rank him top 5 in his weight class and go from there?

Everyone and their mom knows who the better fighter was Saturday and Fanduel made a nice gesture to acknowledge as much. If my bookie did the same I'd have broken even...smh

Online sportsbook FanDuel made a surprising announcement Monday that it’s refunding anyone who placed a bet on Max Holloway winning after his “controversial” split decision loss to Alexander Volkanovski in their featherweight title fight at UFC 251.

Come again? You read that correctly: A sportsbook is giving back money (OK, site credit) to customers who lost fair and square.

Can you imagine even asking a bookie to do that?

Rankings are pretty much useless these days it seems, it's all about whose willing to take the least amount of money for a fight. If Sterling isn't fighting for the belt in his next fight how could you even explain that one? The champ himself even knows that Sterling deserves it, the world knows and the UFC knows it. The fact that they had Aldo in the championship bout proves that rankings mean squat. Same exact thing with Burns, while Burns can give Usman the best fight, he didn't deserve that bout.

It just isn't rational. This guy can't fight because he's too good? WTF? Then just give him the championship fight. I'd set up the match, if the champ doesn't take it then he loses the belt and there's a fight for the interim belt against Ryan Hall. Period.

I'm not a super knowledgeable MMA fan, but I like the sport and watch most of the UFC cards that are on regular ESPN. I've seen Ryan Hall fight twice (against Gray Maynard and Ryan Elkins) and he immediately became my favorite fighter.

I absolutely hate that this guy can't get fights.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Yesterday I was lying; today I'm telling the truth.

You should try and watch TUF season that Ryan was on. Very interesting and cool dude.

The eyes UFC had on this PPV and its champion (Usman) decides to hold the opponent to the cage and toe stomp the guy to death.

This is why I hate wrestlers/grapplers.

Masvidal vs. Conor, now that would be one for the ages, regardless of who loses you know you'll be getting your money's worth.

That would be a fun fight. But what weight class will he commit to? If Conor comes back at 170 and isn’t mentally prepared to battle, he’ll get hurt.

Honestly, I’d love to see him put in the work and get down to 155. There so many good fights for him there. I just think he’s lost the fire to fight. He’s made so much fooking money and he’s so comfortable on his lifestyle. Then there’s his family, child to think of in a COVID world.

Both are natural 155ers so at 170 would be less draining for them to prepare for.

I'd have it at 170.

I honestly think he was committed to coming back and having a solid run this year but the f*cking COVID thing happened and ruined all the plans. Plus, the negotiation battles with Dana once again.

And to answer your question, yes I think he will come back.

Hopefully December against Masvidal if not early next year.

Does anyone think Paul Felder is a good announcer?

He's pretty much a dud from my POV
