Absolutely. That's 100% how Gordon Ryan broke Kyle Boehm's arm last weekend. Exact same position.

Understand not doing it, Dunno if I could bring myself too. Just seems so much more savage than punching someone in the face.

I guess tony? I get the feeling Conor wouldn’t want Dustin just because he thinks he’s another level to him.both would be great fights. Dustin would do a lot better this time around I think but who knows Connor has that early round power

Didn’t you say this like a day ago?

Yup and still thought he was going to lose tonight. After the first 2 rounds I was thinking to myself that I was finally correct in picking against him. Dude just has crazy heart.

Literally just said this is a weird walkout song

What a great beat and the lyrics are perfect for a fighter walking to an octagon. It's all about self belief and self confidence.

Great walkout song for an amazing fight on a great fight card. Glad I remembered to watch.

What a fight !!!! Oh man, had 2K on Poirer too, I was on edge the whole time...Hooker needs to work on that cardio, seems like he loses momentum every time as fight goes on.

Perry looked awful compared to the Luque fight, beating Gall who isn’t ufc calibre doesn’t mean having your gf in your corner is a good idea, but i admittedly understood his reasoning for it during the post fight conference, they gave him a ton of time to speak. His footwork was messed up, fit were constantly crossed, it looked amateur.. especially when he tried going southpaw.

He won the fight due to lack of skill and cardio from his opponent and just straight power. Perry even got the better of the scrambles, he should’ve been able to put Gall away.

Gian Villante looked so fat on his move up to HW and still almost got the finish. HW is just a joke...

Same goes for WMMA, I’m sorry. This Kay girl saw Ronda Rousey when she was 16 and wanted to get into mma, 4 years later at 20 she’s submitting some other girl on a ufc card.

There is literally no other sport in the world where you can do that. Just low tier WMMA, and the HW division. 4 years of training at 16 and you’re in... what a joke tbh.

Good comments.

Man, Hooker is a tough dude to push through that final round. But I don't know if that's cardio or just the task of fighting for 25 minutes. Maybe that's just not physiologically a thing everyone can do every night? He was absolutely toast right from the beginning of the 5th. It was hard to watch, actually. I don't want to see anyone pushed that hard. He was empty after it all.

That said, Dustin popped right up after the fight and seemed to have energy left. Nuts.

TY for noticing how bad Perry was. How much must Gall suck to get manhandled like that? He got Mark Colemaned in 2020. A dude who just lifts weights ran through him. The smaller cage didn't seem to help. It's going to be tough to be lanky and maintain distance without being able to circle out so easily.

I feel bad for Villante, there's not going to be a pretty end for him. He's going to be badly CTE'd at career's end, you'd imagine. And he's just going this for cash and a new son.

That woman Kay fought, have you seen the highlight of her KTFOing a woman with a headkick / power hand? One of the only legit KOs in WMMA ever. So I'm actually excited for both of them.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

This kid Tsarukyan has some seriously high level striking. Definitely a young name I'm keeping an eye on here on out. So smooth standing up.

I'm not trying to be a BJJ stan but to me, Kelvin being submitted by heel hook is huge, especially by the likes of Jack Hermanson. For my money, Kelvin may be the 2nd or 3rd best MW out there. I think this bodes well for guys like Gary Tonon and Gordon Ryan as they potentially transition (or delve deeper in Tonon's case) into MMA.

I'm starting to doubt we ever see Gordon in MMA. The MMA talk with him seems to have completed died off. But damn it would be great to see him at 185 or 205 with his guard game and leg locks. I think Ryan could sweep most MMA guys with ease.

Can't wait to see Tonon against higher level competition. I remember reading that he said he was having a real hard time getting opponents to agree to fight him (sounds like he is getting the Ryan Hall treatment).

It would be really interesting to see Ryan at 205. I think he could do a lot of damage in that division with how watered down it currently is.

I wonder when we last saw a main card with 2 lower body submissions. That kneebar was brutal.

I’ve never seen someone escape 3 rear-naked chokes the way Benavidez did in the first round. All 3 attempts looked tight and locked in but he managed to get out; that was incredible.

The knee-bar finish in the woman’s bout was hard to watch. Her knee is definitely jacked up.

Kelvin also might not be a top 30 MW, on a given day. He has gone from one of my most fave to watch to someone who barely registers interest. Being fat and lazy has caught up to him, evidently.

These little guys, man. Obviously Figueiredo is nasty, gotta be in the pound-for-pound picture soon. But did you guys watch the event on Wednesday?? Elliott vs Benoit was nuts. I can't believe the ferocity of Benoit.

And Kattar vs Ige - at 145 lbs - was pretty awesome too. The skill level on these sub 170 dudes is incredible.

Some great fights this week. The best of which was maybe Diakase vs Fizeiv. Holy Lord. Get ahold of that one if you missed it on Wednesday.

DF has an ~85% finish rate. That's mind-blowing for a 125er.

This is a must watch, just to see Fiziev dodging head kicks. That dudes Muay Thai is just on another level.
