I asked this question years ago and it bears repeating.

Is publicist for Kanye West the worst job in show business?

Kanye West Breaks Down Crying Amid Bizarre President Campaign Rally

The rambling speech — posted to social media by some in the crowd, including reporters — was met with numerous groans as the rapper and clothing designer made such statements as “Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves, she just had them work for other white people.”

What do you guys think of RJ (and LaMelo's) decision to play overseas in hindsight?

Would he have been better served playing for a top coach in the ACC for a year or two?
Is the money in the G-League good enough to deter kids from playing overseas moving forward?
Did he simply choose the wrong international league to play in?
Or should he be pleased with the way things have worked out thus far?

1. In general, college isn't for everyone - and if they anticipate being a one and done I take no exception with them playing for the money. The idea behind college is to prepare for life and eventually get a job - so they're starting their internship early. Better served is subjective - if they are good enough they'll get enough eyes on them.
2. GLeague vs Overseas - most Americans will opt to stay home if they are in that 'elite' class to be paid the $300k+. Even those that aren't may still prefer to stay closer to home unless the overseas money is too good to pass up.
3. Maybe or not - he needed to go to a league/team that would give him playing time.
4. He's going to be drafted so that's the goal. Maybe not as high as he would have been if he went to college but who reakky knows.

LaMelo was viewed as a joke by many and not skilled enough not to be an NBA talent. Maybe people became sick of his father being in the spotlight, or just didn't know LaMelo's game, because we hadn't seen much of it. Now, he's labeled a top 5 pick in the upcoming draft, so playing overseas has worked out for him.

- It's still debatable, whether or not he would've been better served under a college coach. I think he's the wrong kid to make the determination. Due to the holes in his game, he wasn't ever going to set the overseas league on fire anyway.

Similarly, most college coaches would've underutilized him rather than actually helped him improve in the areas he lacks.

Ball is a kid that didn't need college in any way.

- I think the GL money is enough to deter kids going overseas. Shiiii, all they had to do was outbid colleges. 6-figures does it, typically.

- Did he choose the wrong situation? Nah, I just think he needs development. Wasn't gonna really get it in one year wherever he went.

- Should he be pleased with the way it turned out? Yeah. Got paid, got experience, got to start his career path and probably didn't hurt his stock much.

Look at the Little kid out of UNC. Similar weaknesses, imho, but he was exposed tremendously at UNC. If he'd gone overseas, he could've written off his struggles as the typical 'teen acclimating to mans' league' stuff. Instead, he almost dropped out of the 1st round when he was loosely projected as a lotto guy.

I clearly have been out of the lop, cause I had no idea this was going on.

Best wishes to Golic. He lived a charmed life for a long time.

One thing I dislike are those who must share their opinion at all times. Those that don't believe in His but mock those who do to their face and on social media.
I had to have a talk with a few coworkers about that.

I heard he found out by social media.
However, what a life he lived, and he did it well. Just waking up and showing up everyday is what many have a difficult time doing.
