Build a Franchise Season 4 Offseason- Commish Update pg. 93

Post#1 » by bishnykfan » Mon Jul 20, 2020 12:30 am

https://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1972902- Previous thread

Two rules to vote on including one new rule change to discuss.

The Sign and Trade proposal passed and will go into effect immediately.

RULE CHANGES

PROPOSAL TO AMEND NO TRADE CLAUSES

No trade clauses should be reserved for top of the league players who have earned that distinction.

- Proposal- To limit NTC's only to players receiving a minimum $100/year contract offer. Anyone not good enough to receive a contract of at least 10% of the salary cap should not be receiving a no trade clause.

Spoiler:
FOR- (7) Atl, Cle, GS, LAL, NO, Sac, Utah

AGAINST- (13) Bos, Cha, Dal, Den, Det, Hou, Ind, LAC, Mia, Orl, Por, SA, Tor

BAF: Anti Tanking Rule

Due to the potential exploits of the SIM and playing players out of position to intentially get a certain result I am proposing a rule that limits the ability for a GM to exploit the SIM by playing a Center at PG or a PG at Center etc
...

I understand we need to allow our GM's to play guys they want to play (whether they are a team competing for the playoffs or a developing young team) so I don't want this rule to be subjective in terms of who should play and who shouldn't.

This rule proposal is strickly for playing guys out of position to achieve a desired result to lose.

Now I completly understand cross fuctional players such as LeBron, Giannis, Luka, and even someone like BAM playing poentially PG or discretely whoever the GM feels they are helping the team. To be clear this rule does not effect those types of players. So my adjustment to that as long as it is deemed reasonable and the ultimate goal was to help your team by our Commishiner (an impartial 3rd party) then it would be allowed. If the Commishiner deemed the move questionable you would have to write up a legit reason for him to allow you making this move.

This will at least eliminate
DJ Augistine playing center or Bobby Portis playing PG (just examples) which I feel is a complete violation of fair play within our game.

RULE CHANGE

Teams can only play players at the position designated by the sim +/- two spots in the lineup.

For example:

PG (1)- eligible to play 1-3 (PG/SG/SF)
SG (2)- eligible to play 1-4 (PG/SG/SF/PF)
SF (3)- eligible to play 1-5 (PG/SG/SF/PF/C)
PF (4)- eligible to play 2-5 (SG/SF/PF/C)
C (5)- eligible to play 3-5 (SF/PF/C)

Exceptions can be made for players who don't fit these parameters (like a LeBron or Giannis for example) if a request is made to the commissioner showing that the player has played the position that is not within the set of parameters in the rule. Basically this rule will stop teams subjectively from tanking by playing players clearly out of position (i.e. centers at point guard and point guard at center)

When you learn that the opposing GM decided to accept a different offer instead of yours.

Nope no future considerations. Had to bring back Bender lol

I love this trade for both sides. Korkmaz is a beast and Milton gives me guard depth

I see the difference in the contracts as a big swing factor. As solid as Kork looked he is still an expiring why Shake is a great low risk play and if he does continue to show out you have 2 more years under control which is a really smart move.

exactly...i love this trade for both of us. I will have bird right on him for next year when it
will be easy for me to extend him...I was going to watch milton go on a run and trade him for a first anyway...
I love Kork...freeing up space for the cavs was what needed to happen- not to mention he had several offers
for the kid on the table- I think this will be one of those trades that we will look back on and say-
both of them killed that deal...

with melo being over the cap -he needed the 3 years...in my shoes- bird rights and "1-year" leading into next year -works for me
because no one will be able to steal him...

That's a grown man move for Melo. Shake might start for him.

Could work out for Context too as I wouldn't be surprised if FK takes another step. You're welcome for those Birds.

steal him, pay him he's still unrestricted so you will still have to somewhat match unless you believe kork is a 5 year player and you still will probably have to committ some $$ too.

I think in your situation you could have slow played Milton and took the risk of waiting to see if that small sample size was legit or not. If Kork say gets $50 from someone you still will have to be involved in that bidding and while that isn't a crazy contract that is still a lot more than $1 especially someone who "claims" to be going after Booker and Sabonis where every $1 will count down the road.

in terms of a PG Shake might be decent enough in the SIM (especially depending if he does well during the restart) where Melo doesn't necassarily need to address PG in the draft.

Very shrewd move at a low cost.

At least I sent Korkmaz to a team that will lock him up long term. I wasn’t sure if I was gonna keep him. But most importantly, now I get to sign my pick :D

how many teams do you think will have money next year mp? not many- trust me...and i know milton will go off- ive said so several times...again, my plan was to get a first for him and what type of first would that have been- a late probably because it would have
come from a contending team. I rather have kork- who i believe in- now...no one will out bid me for him next season- he will get the 5 year - just as any player i invest in bro...
