That makes sense.

I wonder if he will retain his 3 star status...

It was a pretty bad season but i would think so. Still a great glue player when the main pieces are there to stick together.

But why waive him, why not keeping trading for players with smaller contracts also with no value, so long before free agency starts could of made a game out of how many trades it would take to remove the entire cap hit dray had by acquiring players with smaller and smaller cap hits

Yea I am not sure why he would be waived. I assume there's some reasoning behind it. Maybe someone ends up claiming him in a deal.

yea would be interesting to hear.. usually the value would be to have a rebuilding year to secure a high draft pick but in this case does not own its own 2021 draft pick

yeah unless to pooch's point he was incentivized to waive him :o

I do think the HOU/BOS waiver claim trade makes sense for both. Gets HOU off 150+ of contracts that wont even be in his rotation. And then used the reaming to bring in draymond who still can contribute.

I can understand a sunk cost for 1 year. Its why I waived teague.

But to have 2 years on your books dead seems a bit premature unless he was asked to waive him and given that trade which still seems like light value

a very very late first round pick to eat $880 is a pricey cost

no I am explaining it in perfect "context"

Consider there two contracts right now if Dryamond was still on BOS would with a straight up 2 year contract deal of similar contracts be objectively bad deal?

If I offered you my #15 pick for all your 2022 picks that would be objectively bad. You would laugh and think I was on drugs.

If you want to argue there are no "objectively" bad moves or trades a GM can make no matter what...then I would vehemently disagree with you.

Also your example of your Kork trade...I said IMO I believe Melo got the better deal that is a "subjective" opinion I agree with you. There is varying levels of deals. I never said that was an awful trade. I have only said that about a few deals....for the most part GM's make good moves. The very rare occurrence they make an awful move (that I do agree with).

Facts. If the GM himself is happy with what he is doing then that’s all that matters. The Korkmaz one was a great example. Here’s another one, remember when NewEra traded Steph for Westbrook and we all questioned the move? Guess what, he won a ring and proved us wrong.

yes correct those are subjective opinions. I never said otherwise. But there are deals that could be considered "objectively" bad.

As I said above...it was my opinion you got a good deal for the Kork trade. I never said it was an awful trade from Contexts POV. But if you trying to tell me someone can't make an "objectively" bad trade I'm sure I can find a fake trade that the league would consider objectively bad for the league.

If we agree to a Frank Ntlikina for Jayson Tatum trade straight up...that isn't objectively horrible for you?
