2 things about this Mock

1. I don't want Xavier Tillman. Think he's a hard working kid, but can't get over the inability to shoot. He's a project, and I don't want a project that spent 3 years at a big school. Id rather a young kid. Id love him as a late 2nd or UDFA, but not at 23. He doesn't give me Draymond enough vibes.

2. Looking at this draft - we passed on Kira Lewis, Nico Mannion, Theo Maledon, Jalen Smith, Daniel Oturu - all of whom I'm high on.

You may be calling me out for my Aussie bias, but I'm becoming more and more intrigued with Josh Green as a choice at #23 if available. Has a nice looking stroke, even if his jumper is still developing - 42%FG didn't exactly translate all that well in College. 78% free throw stroke gives me hope in his shooting potential though.

Has a lot of tools, good size at 6'6", 210lbs and a 6'10" wingspan. Defensively he seems really strong, and has a nice overall skillset - super versatile, can handle some, shoot some, finish some...

SG/SF may not be that big in our overall 'needs' bucket (stretch big seems quite obviously our need area), but I'd be pretty happy with this pick if he's around. Can address the other need in FA potentially.

Josh Green's stock levels at the moment:

- Tankathon: #18
- NBADraft.net: #21
- NBADraftroom: #23
- NBC Sports: #16

Green does ooze potential. Think he could be real good if he finally figures it out.

Not enough to convince me against going big if given a choice though. Think he would be a great choice for an org that's really good at developing players. Besides us, who's that?

Would really love to get another pick in round 2 and take Killian Tillie. Always new his offense was good but surprised by his switchability on d.

Isn't he a major red flag due to injuries? Like, he has bionic legs now, right?

I LOVE Green. The one thing that worries me is I think he may be limited to being just a 2, and the heat seem to love versatility if guys aren't A++ in one area.

I'd say in todays NBA he can play either the 2 or 3, mainly due to this size and wingspan.

His game is versatile enough in that he can do a little bit of everything, so I think Miami would value the versatility within his game, if not the positional versatility he brings. He can play off-ball and on-ball, which is pretty handy and fits our ethos.

I actually reckon he'd fit pretty well. Could learn behind Igoudala in year 1 and then be used in a similar way going forward.

Standard.

I’ll actually lol pretty hard if he ends up on our team or SL roster.

Rarely do we ever get that late round guy we want as player fans. The last one I got was Wayne Simien. That turned out reeaaal good, lol.

I was high on Simien. Thought he could’ve been something. Shame how that one turned out. Salmonella wasn’t it!?

I was happy with Napier, he was my guy. Didn’t work out well for the team but Bazz has carved a nice career out for himself. No superstar, but a solid player all the same.

Something like that. That and he just wasn't that good.

Wasn't a fan of Napier at all. Major size issues. Enjoyed him in college, but didn't want us drafting him, especially with the few picks we ever have. That's the part of Lebron's legacy here I detest. We were making chit moves trying to make him happy, and it hurt us bad. Boy knew he was gone before any of these moves.

Interesting tidbit on Bazz-he's a career 39% shooter from the field and his per 36 shot attempts are 12.2 attempts a game. Alonzo Mourning only averaged 13.4 per 36 for his career and he was a 20 point scorer. Pretty wild. Alonzo never did put up the shot attempts he should have though. He could get a bucket. 13.4 attempts a game.....crazy.

We have a pretty deep squad as is, but if I had to pick a need it would be a pure pg or backup center. Pg may obviously be a bigger need also if Goran leaves.

Looking at the guys available, Kira Lewis sticks out. Guy is really good. Most mocks have him going before we would pick.

Per wiretap, Windhorst suggests teams may be willing to sell picks. If true, I'd like to see the Heat make a move up in the draft if the right guy is available.

Sadly, I think Micky is gonna be one of those owners.

Unless we really like a guy, you are probably right.

Agreed. With the current tourism situation any owners who are heavily engaged will be experiencing a downturn.

To further exacerbate things cruise operations have been hit badly. They will likely take even longer to recover due to debacles like the Ruby Princess.
