The players are rusty and the quality of play is pretty terrible, but I like the setup. It feels weird right now, but I think I'll get used to it pretty quickly.

Bol Bol is the highlight of the day so far.

Yeah its early but I feel like we are watching the games without a soul. If you get what I mean.

Absolutely, a lot of people will probably feel this way. I just really wanted basketball back, so I'll take it

There are always guys that drop into the 2nd round because of an injury scare or what not. But props to Denver for playing the long game on not just one but 2 draft picks (MPJ and Bol Bol)

I actually dig the look. Lack of fans totally reminds me of Euro basket. Which I'm very fond of.

It's just hard for me to see Bol Bol getting it all together. The flashes are amazing and he's a unique prospect, no question, but he's still pretty lost on defense when he's asked to defend away from the rim (as the rim protector in the zone defense he's amazing, though) and his frame just scares me. Will be interesting how much playing time he actually gets when the actual games start. I'd certainly want to see more of him after yesterday.

He has more talent than several recent lotto bigs including Wendell. Kind of ridiculous he went so low.

Denver drafted Bol Bol fully knowing they may very well might get 0 games out of him. They already had elite veteran big men, and quality bench bigs. Same with MPJ - good overall team that doesn't have many minutes available, but needs a high-ceiling addition. High risk + high reward is the perfect strategy.

Were Bulls in position to draft high risk? No. Little surprised Bol dropped all the way to #44, but Gafford made more sense here.

I don't think anyone believes Bol Bol will hold up in the NBA. I might be misremembering as well, but I thought his shot was really slow and had a low release point and didn't really project out to be much of a weapon despite good percentages on really limited number of attempts.

He has freakishly good touch as a big. Release point is meaningless when you're 7'2". And anyway, a low release point is actually preferred for shooting 3's.

He's a bean-pole, and he has a horrible reputation as a worker/teammate. But in terms of actual basketball talent, he's a very talented guy.

I hope it works out for Bol, he's fun to watch, but he's only 20 and looks like a 35-year-old athletically.

We'll see how it goes with him. I agree that if he could stay healthy, he sure looked pretty talented, but there were definitely a lot of concerns there too which is why he dropped. Given that he hasn't played an NBA game yet, I can't say that those concerns feel entirely unwarranted, but I would have been just as happy if the Bulls took him instead of Gafford on draft day. I feel fine about Gafford too though.

That guy is 7"2, out running fastbreaks making one handed passes in the open court like a friggin guard yet I'm arguing during that draft against posters saying he was a slow-footed big that barely moved his feet.

Peep the pull up jumper off the break which looks strikingly similar to another skinny twig like 7fter

I don't think I'm more excited for any player outside of Zion than Bol Bol. I will be tuned into every Nuggets game.

Nate Robinson vs Jake Paul to be undercard in Tyson vs Jones

Just thought this was random:
On Thursday afternoon, The Athletic reported that former NBA player Nate Robinson and YouTube star Jake Paul had agreed to fight on the undercard of Tyson-Jones.

For Robinson, a 3-time NBA slam dunk champion, this will be his first boxing match. Paul has fought twice, most recently notching a first-round technical knockout of fellow YouTube personality AnEsonGib (known as Gib) back in January.

Im still struggling to watch. There have been alot of great plays but there are no reactions. I really really miss that part of the game.

English Premier League soccer is getting pretty good at this. It started as just random noise, but it seems like they have been matching the "fan" reactions to the action more. Maybe they delay the broadcast by a few seconds to cue things up?
