once I weed out all the ones I don't want to keep long term I should have enough to send a few $500 bids to players I like.

Nobody will take on the players you don’t want to keep though. So ur fawked

as long as I don't completely f*ck up the draft I should be ok.

If I have to I will have plenty of future picks to offload enough of those contracts if I completely sh*t the bed in the draft...which isn't ideal but I will make sure to make room

Yeah - I've always tried to grab guys in that range as trade chips and it's actually kind of hard to move them. The only other guys in that range are mostly draft choices that are non-starters... in both directions.

I’m sure everybody here is gonna want to take part in the big free agency so I doubt anyone will take on bad contracts and miss out. Unless those picks are unprotected and your team is still terrible by then maybe

Yeah - I've always tried to grab guys in that range as trade chips and it's actually kind of hard to move them. The only other guys in that range are mostly draft choices that are non-starters... in both directions.

yeah its why if you don't hit on your draft picks (even late 1st rounders). If you have guys at $20-$25 dollar and they aren't good they are considered bad contracts.

like within there rookie year I had Carsen Edwards from a trade and it was nearly impossible to move him without a decent asset. He was a rookie and was so difficult to mve because cap space is precious

Great points by you both. Those super productive $1 players on multi year deals is where it’s at! Not easy to come by, but it’s a great advantage.

The flipside though is that if you have five decent mid-level starters to high bench players at $20... that's only $100 and the Sim likes depth.
