Just before the 4 minute to go mark in the 4th, the bench reaction to the Payne assist to Dallio is priceless and brings a smile to my face. It's like Payne's 3rd good play in a row and the bench GOES OFF!! Book, Ayton, Bridges with his hands on his head in disbelief, Oubre sprinting away!!! LOVE IT!!!

Payne looks more patient than he has in the past, rushing things is a problem with a lot of young guards.
It's one scrimmage but definitely encouraging signs from him.
Hate to oversimplify but it's probably going to come down to shooting He's a career 33% 3pt shooter, if he can raise that up to at least the high 30's he's got a shot to stick as a backup PG in the league. He has plenty of quickness and at 6'3 he's tall enough.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Payne would take 2m of cap dollars but might be smart to keep him. That back up PG has been a buggaboo
You are right - if he can get 37 or 38% - would be nice to have.
Suns have cap space but its limited really. Granted not many teams will have cap space but other GMs get creative so it doesn' matter.

Yeah if he plays well these 8 games it's a no brainier to bring him back at that price.BobbieL wrote:WeekapaugGroove wrote:Payne looks more patient than he has in the past, rushing things is a problem with a lot of young guards.

We are not gonna have cap space. If we dumped everyone we would need to replace Frank, Carter, Saric, Baynes, Diallo, Okobo, and Payne with only $20M. That's not happening. We will keep most of them and use the MLE.
