Whatever we do in this draft, I'm really hoping we leave with Isiaha Mike. He's a role player that I feel fairly competent will translate in the next level.

Re: 2019-2020 College BBall/2020 NBA Draft Vol 1
Just watched these videos of Fitts:
Changed my perception of him a little bit. His help defense in his senior year was rough from the few game clips I've watched, but in this game at the end of 2019, he really plays excellent on ball defense. I feel like he's a player that rises to the moment, but coasts against lesser talent. He's turning 23 today, but he feels like a potential DeAndre Hunter or Harrison Barnes type player who will serve as a nice upside role player. I wouldn't hate it if he could eventually replace Tobias Harris, another guy who he shares some attributes with.

Didn’t realize he was considered unathletic. Seems to be quite coordinated with good speed and very good explosion.

Gotta come away with either Josh Green or Devin Vassell with the Thunder pick. I'd take Tre Jones, as well.

Kobble, I’ve come around on Hagans a bit. I sometimes lose sight of what a prospect is capable of doing rather than what he did in college. His form is sound, he’s comfortable shooting off the dribble/pull up/ stationary, can throw down in traffic, is an absolute pest on defense. If he fills out more, he will at minimum, be a good defensive role player in the NBA. I’d grab him and give him some time to run the show in the G-League.

Yeah, I'm really hoping Hagans is on our radar. He possesses a lot of winning qualities.
His attitude is the main thing I'd be monitoring. If he's uncoachable, I think he loses all his would-be appeal to a winning team.
If I were Sixers brass, I'd be on the phone with Coach Cal and begging him to give it to me straight regarding his intangibles.

I think you'd need to trade up for Vassell or Green, if the OKC pick conveys - I would plan that it won't.
OKC's got 2 easier games (WSH & PHX) but 4 vs the teams ahead of them in the standings plus MIA & MEM.

Green could make it to OKC's pick, Vassell I doubt it, I don't think Philly should focus on those guys though, if it's BPA sure, but otherwise
Hagans is like bad Rondo

Except Rondo is a 60% FT shooter in the NBA and was a 57% FT shooter in college. Hagans definitely has more upside as a shooter coming out of college.
I tend to believe that Hagans had off the court issues this year that affected his offensive game.
Here's a hot take: someone will take Hagans in the first round based off him being a 5 star recruit, an 80% FT shooter, a 6'3 point guard, and a defensive maestro. Unless he completely gave up on the team and was a lockerroom cancer, I doubt teams will really care about his poor scoring output and bad percentages this year.

Now that we're a perennial playoff team with several high salary players, I think we need to focus on getting guys that can defend their position and score assisted buckets. Those two qualities are paramount in us fielding a worthy playoff rotation.

Hagans being a potential nutjob is why I'd be fine with Tre Jones with the Thunder pick.
We'd get our defensive stud PG that can do other things, except without the baggage. Tre is a great kid with a great head on his shoulders. Definitely a winning piece.

Lamelo Ball isn’t as quick as Lonzo. He can’t play PG in the NBA IMO. While he’s not that good of a scorer to play the wing. My guess is, the reason why he opted to play overseas is he’s trying to hide his weakness to play as a wing while it’s the competition where he can play full time PG.
Maybe he turns out to be like Doncic. But he’s more like Rubio for me.
Edwards will take years to develop and I’d stay away from selecting him first overall, just by looking at his shooting numbers and BPM.
Wiseman is the best option for first overall. The lack of college games makes it hard to evaluate him. I don’t think there’s anyone at his level among the draftees. I see him like Ayton but better on defense. Can potentially be a very good to elite rim protector.

There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Lamelo can definitely light it up as a scorer, but he's going to be an inefficient mess. He'll be like a mix between Austin Rivers and Nick Young.
Edwards is a pretty safe bet to translate pretty quickly as a scorer, IMO. Just not a big fan of his motor or ability to defend. He'll be a guy that can drop 20, but kinda in a meh way. Like a Jaylen Brown type.
I do see the Ayton comparison for Wiseman. Not sure if he's more defensively sound, though. I think they both are weak defenders. They're just guys that can block shots at the rim but get torched in the pick and roll. If you can't defend in space as a big, you're a pretty bad defender in the modern NBA. Onyeka Okongwu is the only big in the lottery worth a damn on defense.
If I'm picking #1, there's only two guys on my big board. Killian Hayes or R.J. Hampton.

Edwards would scare me because the Brolic Guy who got by on his brolicness has not done super well lately. Stanley Johnson comes to mind IMO. RJ Barret too. Edwards seems like the best athlete of that type tho so maybe but IDK I get a bit leery over dudes who seem to be simply ahead of their peers build wise.

A criticism of Edwards is that he doesn't take advantage of his frame enough. He doesn't slash to the rim that often. His game is very perimeter jumpshot heavy. 49% of his fga's are threes, for instance.
He actually plays a little like D'Angelo Russell. Which is odd, given his frame and athleticism.

Edwards will likely end up as one of the leading scorers in the class and get a ton of attention and fame. I just think it will be a lot of empty buckets on bad to mediocre teams. Don't like his defense or motor so I don't see him being a star difference maker that impacts winning.

Edwards 85%tile is Jason Richardson, you just don't bet on a guy whose high end outcome is that meh that high in the draft

I still think Josh Green would be so perfect for us. He's like a bigger Gary Harris.
