Dude is really whining that he has trouble now getting high tea at a ritzy hotel that probably didn't use to serve blacks? I mean, in America, I thought it was just high society old over-privileged ladies that did that. I can't imagine an American guy doing that in this day.

How do you know your "police reform" plan is hot garbage? The head of the police union makes a public statement saying they have absolutely no problem with it.

I stand with these mayors. They know a lot more about what's best for their city than you and I do.

As was said in the article, each city faces a different situation. It can't and shouldn't be a one-size-fits-all.

And who cares what the police union said? I know I don't. I'm not about to judge the mayors' proposal based on what the union said about them.

Putting aside Tom Cotton for the moment, and his motivation for the "necessary evil" statement, which was to attack the 1619 Project -

Would the south have agreed to rebel against England if abolition of slavery was a pre-condition for a new united country". Of course not.

Would the northern states alone have rebelled. Maybe, but their chances of winning would not be good. If a condition of a future union of northern states alone was abolition of slavery, would they rebel? Probably not. In 1776 all northern states were slave states. It wasn't until 1804 that slavery was abolished in all northern states.

So, in 1776, it seems obvious that the founding fathers that opposed slavery would have agreed with the statement that slavery was a necessary evil for the founding of the United States. And many would not even have agreed that slavery was evil.

I don't understand the point you're trying to make here, other than to state the obvious that the "founding fathers" were also racists, and that america was founded on racist principles.

sure, what Cotton said may be construed/defended as a valid historical opinion. doesn't make it any less abhorrent or racist.

Georgia Senator David Purdue posts fb ad depicting Dem challenger Ossoff (Jewish) as having received endorsement from Schumer (Jewish) and photoshopped Ossoff's nose.

“In the graphic design process handled by an outside vendor, the photo was resized and a filter was applied, which appears to have caused an unintentional error that distorted the image,” the spokesperson said. “Obviously, this was accidental, but to ensure there is absolutely no confusion, we have immediately removed the image from Facebook.”

“Anybody who implies that this was anything other than an inadvertent error is intentionally misrepresenting Senator Perdue’s strong and consistent record of standing firmly against anti-Semitism and all forms of hate,” the spokesperson added.

The spokesperson noted that Perdue co-sponsored a resolution condemning all forms of anti-Semitism and wrote to national leaders condemning anti-Semitism and calling for more security for Jewish organizations.

Some people hate Americans that hate anything at all that America has done. "They are not true Americans" is the loophole that allows that particular line of reasoning.

Trump should be tried for at least attempted murder. He continued to push a drug that has PROVEN in several tests to cause more harm (including death - and death is kindofa bad side effect) than good. HE INTENTIONALLY PROVIDED FALSE INFORMATION about cures and treatments for COVID-19 - so obvious that all 3 of Facebook, Twitter and Youtube removed the video he promoted. Just the fact that the drug's got several tests only because he pushed it - and test subjects have died - should get him arrested for manslaughter. The fact that he continues to push it should get him arrested for attempted murder.
