Fultz + Evan couid make a great back court

I sure hope so. Evan, on paper has everything needed to complement Fultz. I'd really like to see Vuc (our best player, no doubt) moved and we go to a wing-oriented offense to take advantage of all of the speed and versatility on our roster (that generally watches Evan and Vuc go PnR).

On a similar but different note, Coach Cliff has been great. He's done what he was expected/asked to do. Fundamentally sound, good defense, low mistakes...but imagine if we had hired Nick Nurse. I have to wonder what he'd make of Isaac, AG, Evan, Fultz, Ross, Vuc.

Well i was the only one here who advocated for Nurse. I researched all the internet about him and i was almost certain he is a championship level coach. One thing i must admid is that on our stage of development Clifford wasnt much worse option. Regarding Vuc i believe he will be a very good pnr/pnp partner for Fultz in time. With decreased usage he can have Marc Gasol- like role on a contender.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

I don't think Nurse was ever a realistic candidate for anyone but Toronto for what it's worth. I feel like he knew he was going to get that job when they let Casey go and obviously he wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to coach a title contender in favor of a much worse squad.

The coach the Magic (secretly) interviewed that still intrigues me to this day from a "what if?" perspective is Kelvin Sampson.

That guy has always seemed to get more out of his college teams that you'd expect given the lack of NBA players on his roster each year.

I can't imagine anyone was rooting for Cliff. He's done a very solid job, as expected. He's universally respected, it seems.

I'm just dying to swing for the fences...in personnel, coaching, philosophy, schemes...Cliff was a safe, sound choice.

This could also explain why we're slowly easing Bamba in. We have the luxury of giving him the time to adjust to his new weight with the 7 seed all but locked up due to the injuries Brooklyn has

I don’t think we have anything locked up. Everyone in the bubble is playoff-eligible. No gimmes. BRK is hurting, but Crawford (in a short stretch) is scary. We’re in good position, but I wouldn’t relax yet

I don't mean we'll be lottery bound, just that the jump to 7 is far from certain in this crazy format, lots of uncertainties...I think some teams will play above themselves and some below expectations due to all of the curveballs in environment, conditioning, and likely prominent players dropping

If the Magic win the first game they should be in pretty good shape. Caris Levert is going to have to score 40 a game if the Nets are going to surprise Non-wizard teams

Is our Magic number for the playoffs 2? As in two wins for us, two Wizard losses, or a combo of those results?

More AG trade talk...

Aaron Gordon, Magic

Gordon was on the block at the trade deadline last February and there was interest from teams like Golden State and Phoenix, but nothing that got close to becoming a workable deal. Gordon bounced back after a rough start but still, the Magic want to give the team over to Jonathan Isaac and Gordon just doesn’t fit with that plan. He has a contract that lines up well for a trade, declining to $18.1 million next year and $16.4 million in the final year of the deal.

Eastern Conference exec: “They were really trying to deal him before the deadline but they weren’t getting the assets back they wanted. It will be easier to move that contract when it’s only got two years left. He’s probably the most likely big name to be traded. He’s a good gamble—he is only 24.”
