Jonathan Isaac Cleared To Return For Monday Scrimmage

Jonathan Isaac will make his return to the Orlando Magic during Monday's scrimmage, reported Josh Robbins of The Athletic.

Isaac has been out with a sprained knee since January 1st.

Isaac has exceeded expectations as the team increased his work load.

“I feel like over the course of getting my knee right I’ve worked on my jumper. I’ve watched a lot of film to try to just learn and grow in IQ as a basketball player. So that’s gone well. Honestly, a part of it is just getting back. I’m not so much focused on coming out and blowing the doors off anything but just getting my feet wet again, and I’m feeling good about it. So I feel like I’m the same player, and I just continue to take steps forward," said Isaac.

I'm genuinely surprised by this. He must have shown significant progress. Him getting more minutes with Fultz on the floor should be a positive thing for this franchise.

Much more positive game for a lot of reasons. Thought Vooch did a great job early on playing inside out finding open shooters and cutters. Ennis and Clark looked like positive contributors. Isaac and Fultz brought a level of excitement on court the team has been missing badly. Fultz shot looks improved. JI's shot is still a bit slowmo but my god did he take over the game in his brief cameo. Wow.

He looked beyond comfortable. He looked in control. He was running that 2nd unit.

I think it's time for Cliff to give AG's 2nd unit minutes to Isaac and let him run that squad instead. Especially if AG is going to be more of an option with the starters sharing Vuc's role as post facilitator. Isaac is due his touches.
