Brewers/Cards Series - Series Cancelled; Cain Opts Out

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Fri Jul 31, 2020 12:17 am

Flaherty vs. Anderson
Wainwright vs. Burnes
Hudson vs. Houser
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Damn. For strictly baseball purposes, hopefully they can trace it easily enough that this isn't a week+ off of baseball for either team.

The Brewers could probably play...but if we're sticking with only Central/Central, there's nobody to reschedule/squeeze games in against.

5 inning triple headers coming soon!
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

How will Chris Carpenter explain this to his kids?

I would say maybe the Cleveland team since the Twins may be shut down...but the Twins just played one game against them...

I wonder if they realize this is all going to continue to get more complex as they play more, varied opponents.

What a joke. We're one week into the season with this mess.

They don’t. You need a perfect bubble to make this happen. And I’m not convinced the NBA’s will hold. We’ll see.

Maybe they have a plan but I've yet to hear what they are going to do if multiple guys in a position group test positive prior to a game.. do they postpone the game or make the team pick up players and try to play. That's just one example of something that could go wrong in the NFL.

I'd say at this point the NFLs best shot will be if the community spread in the US is far less 6 weeks from now but I'm not exactly optimistic about that.

I dont think MLB really even wanted a season with this half ass plan.

I'm in favor of erasing all the stats from this season and pretending like it never happened when they cancel it in the next week or two.

Manfred and Boras have to be in a direct line with each other now.

Would think they'd cancel the Brewers/Cards series but then agree they'd keep it going until one more situation arises.

The only plan football can put out there is just building 1-2 extra months into the season for several delays.

A bubble was only a longshot in MLB and impossible in NFL.

I'm not absolving these commissioners of blame but some of this is just simply hard/impossible to pull off.
