This baffles me also.....keep the minutes the same just play him during the stretch if those minutes are available

Y'all will forget this insignificant detail once we're hanging that 18th banner on 2020-21 season opening night.

Maybe he wants to give Kemba some more low pressure minutes to get him loose and back in the swing of things first before focusing too much on winning close games? He didn't get a ton of minutes during the scrimmages. Only explanation I can think of.

You are being too kind to Brad.
DUMB.

He hasn't played a full game in months. Building stamina will be important. He won't be able to do that if you play him in 5 minute spurts each quarter. It's going to be important that he conditions himself to play actual minutes at a time. He's gotta build stamina to be out there in 8-10 minute spurts and he's only going to be able to do that by playing 8-10 minute spurts.

Why is it dumb? Seeding doesn’t matter. These games are glorified scrimmages

Celtics win, 112-106. 80 pts by Middleton.

Officials for tonight: James Capers, Kevin Scott, Brent Barnaky

Sad thing is the 80 pts by Middleton might be more likely than the 18 pts by everyone else.

I have a hard time seeing Milwaukee rolling over and treating this like a scrimmage. I don't believe Giannis is wired that way and this will trickle to the others.

It's not really Giannis's call. See Bledsoe and Patty C not playing despite both of them practicing yesterday.

And Milwaukee has played half the season like a scrimmage, they play three quarters and then bring in the end-of-bench.

It will be interesting to see if the Bucks have an answer to Jaylen Brown. They can put Giannis on Tatum, but who guards Brown? Brown will eat Khris Middleton for lunch, so maybe they go with George Hill or the corpse of Wesley Matthews.

LMAO I wanted the Cs to go after Marvin (decent 3&D swing; Kemba connection; locker room presence). Now I'm putting the over/under of Williams playing for Milwaukee at 10 minutes his entire Bucks career.

If I'm reading this correctly, we won't have Kemba for late part of the 3rd and whole of the 4th, no matter the score by then.

The Alvin Gentry strategy. I thought Brad was smarter than this... Surely his knee doesn't know which part of the quarter we are in. What am I missing here? :dontknow:

I don't see the issue with this. It might be Brad wanting players to get use to the rotations. So for the first half it will be like a fully healthy Celtics team.

Seeding not mattering makes it hard for me to get too pumped for this. The games won't really matter until the playoffs since there's no real homecourt advantage...I'll probably still watch at least some of the game though and hope to be entertained.

Gonna knock off work early and move from the spare bedroom/office to the couch for this. Still seems a touch unreal that it's happening, but I can now legitimately plan my day around it guilt-free since all other events/commitments are gone.

The NBA brain trust ought to be in heaven after the two games last night. Both went down to the wire, and the NO-Utah game was highly entertaining. I saw the highlights of the LA vs LA game, and I expect that it was entertaining as well.

Do either of those games really matter? Yes, the loss matters to NO, but they were a longshot anyway, and were only invited so that the league's star makers can slobber all over Zion.
