they do have a really good offense. However, this was one of the most enamic defensive efforts ever seen.

This game, yeah, but Houston has ability to clamp down when they have to, they just didn't turn up like that. In the playoffs you will see them being way more physical than this. Still, Harden is just ridiculous and he locked up Luka on that last play but dude has to carry so much offense that if he even gets into any foul trouble the Rockets are done so he's gotta be out there for them to have any shot. He can D up when he has to though

They are committed to this strategy...I don't see it playing out well in the post season but it for sure leads to high scoring games with ridiculous stat lines.

But Ayton being so improved so much this is like Shaq-Kobe II, no way it's happening now. They have a pretty good PG in Rubio and improving year by year in Oubre. If they miss PO and somehow get high in draft, and get a quality player, which doesn't have to be a PF, they may have the makings of champ contenders as long as Ayton takes next step in becoming a nightly 22-15-3 force.

you do realize they broke up shaq and kobe

Cause they had beef though. Ayton and Booker seem to get along pretty well

luka 1-9 from 3 bringing season average down from 31.8 to 31.4. wonder how long he gets to keep taking 9.1 a game before he gets reeled in

They were better when they were funneling to Capela but now they just seem more versatile but they have no paint protection whatsoever so its all about rotations and taking charges and thats hard to do when you are guarding a potent offensive team like the Mavs. There are other matchups where teams arent that good offensively as the Mavs are and their defense looks a little better.

But with Tucker and Covington they still got guys who will play gritty and things are going to get amped up in the playoffs so its going to be interesting.

He's gotta become better knocking down those step backs, he loves them but at the same time the fact that he shoots a lot from outside and has the ability to knock them down is what opens up his entire drive game. He's not that quick but he relies on the hesi to sell the step back and then go around the defense.

I wouldn't look to reel him in, just tell him to keep working on the shot until it becomes even better. He's so good and crafty with the ball.

I think if anything he's gotta do a better job of slinging some of those passes around, many times he would make the wrong reads, did a lot of it tonight

Covington for sure is an excellent defender. And Tucker is a tough SOB.

but if there first round matchup is vs Jokic or Gobert over a long series unless Harden is literally on every night they are going to get worked on the glass. That will have to be on from 3 every single game.

They are committed to this small ball so we shall see...I'm not as confident as you are.

I'm not confident in any team that has Westbrook

I do think they are too small. They are missing an inside presence and while I get the small ball strategy and it has its benefit, the lineup they start the game with looks more like a lineup that should be used for stretches and sometimes even to close depending on matchups, like the death lineup Warriors used, but I don't trust it as a full time lineup especially in the playoffs. They definitely need at least one defensive big.

After they won 3 rings and they played together for 8 years. This is Ayton and Book's only 2nd year together.

Happy for Ayton. A lot of ppl wrote him off last year.

Ppl talk about other duos a lot but this duo might be one of the most ridiculous offensive combos we’ve seen in a while. I hope they get in the playoffs.
