Dont get me wrong, he needs to improve on that but I think he can def at least become enough of a threat to keep defenses honest.
This was an argument I saw made by Twolves fans before on Ricky Rubio that he was solid in the catch and shoot.
The problem with this is that if you take LaMelo off the ball you negative his greatest strengths. He has to score at an efficient rate on off the dribble shots and drives.
Its still a great skill to have for G's since nobody has the ball 100% of the time....maybe even nescessary. If he feeds someone in the post or the ball swings around, it def helps spacing if he can knock down open 3's so defenses can't sag off.
It also gives him a better chance to improve on other types of shots. Maybe not, but at least a good sign. If you can't hit open 3's you probably are not going to hit tough ones so its a start. Def agree that he needs to improve his efficiency overall. Just simply cutting down on some of the bad shots will help. I dont have the numbers, but he took a ton of tough shots and didnt shoot well on those. Just forced way too many bad shots...Still needs to improve though.
