He was getting open looks all night long, and I can't for the life of me figure out why. With Sabonis hurt and Dipo finding his groove, Warren seems like the clear go to scorer at this point (who lit us up last time we played). Is Brett Brown really that clueless or were our defenders on cruise control?

Ruined a great game by Embiid. An efficient 41 and 21, with the usual +21 on court and -27 off court. Horford is suppose to be the best backup C in the league but he looked like barbecue chicken out there. And of course Simmons didn't attempt any jumpers after teasing us in a scrimmage... Very frustrating.

I think we win this if Embiid doesn't go to the locker room in the 2nd half, so I'll hang my hat on that. Pacers couldn't do anything to slow him down without Sabonis' big body to throw at him. Unfortunately he and Tobias were the only ones who showed up.

Indy is just resilient as all hell to begin with, obviously this W was Warren's effort, but I think in general their coach is very underrated and deserve COTY consideration. Every player on that team finds important place and way to contribute.

He always kind of reminded me of Joe Johnson. He's always had flashes of scoring prowess. I wouldn't say it's unlikely at all.

Honestly, I'm impressed by one thing. His work ethic. You don't get to 53 points from slacking during your time off. This guy probably kept his routine or even pushed harder. Other than his super consistent release, dude looks shredded.
Many NBA players were half-assing during this period, focusing on politics or singing career. Warren gave his best, and it shows. It should be noted that he isn't even on his contract year, he has a guaranteed contract until 2022-2023.

Damn that’s crazy. Always knew he could score. Also, didn’t Suns basically gave him away for free?

So stoked for this guy - as an NC State fan/grad, always been rooting for this guy and glad he’s finally getting some shine.

Hopefully DSJ isn’t far behind him.

Cause TJ Warren is better off playing in front of no fans.

The sixers are just a mess. Even their defense now. Brown is probably getting fired first chance this summer but should have been last year.

And it’s never going to help if they keep playing embiid vs bench units instead of the larger majority of minutes against starters.

I have to question why they signed and are playing Horford at the five, and now only the backup five, after he said he didn’t want to be playing the five... how was that going to help anything. There is a big change that is not attributable to age.

It's pretty rare TJ has a poor shooting game overall...maybe from deep but not typically overall. He has a natural knack for getting it in the hole....particularly short to mid range...but now with the 3 going in like that's it's crazy.

Yeah he did. We were all getting worried about him going to the locker room, and when our beat reporter inquired, they said everything was fine, and nothing to worry about. He was gone 5-10 minutes. Standard **** time lol. If I recall correctly I think he did the same thing in his rookie or sophomore year.

Man, that's really weird. I don't think I've heard about that happening before but maybe people just don't talk about that stuff because it's a bit of a private issue.

In any case, we're definitely lucky that Embiid had to poop. We probably aren't winning this if he played more minutes.

So many teams are looking for these hybrid Fs and PHX gave away two of them in Warren and Morris

Agreed. He is generally a pretty consistent scorer and that's largely because he is very comfortable scoring from spots that opposing teams tend to concede (mid-range). Here's a look at this year's game log for Warren:

https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/warretj01/gamelog/2020/

He has only scored less than 10 PPG 9 times in these 62 games. Sure, he won't go for 50+ next game but he'll probably not go for 5 either.
