As long as they dont play the Blazers in the 1st round it wont matter

Grizz or Spurs are an easy sweep

And the Blazers aren't? It doesn't really matter who the 8th seed is unless Lebron or AD get injured, that's the only way the 1st round won't be a walk in the park.

They have a good shot at the 3rd seed. Not sure if they want it, Clippers are a tougher match up for them than the Lakers.

Yeah their remaining schedule isn't too bad and Denver is still missing their guys. Lakers would be sitting pretty if they end up facing Denver/Utah/OKC in the second round.

Hoping Hou stays at 6 or even 7. Knock out Denver in rd 1 and then play LAC in rd 2

Blazers def have the potential of taking a game or 2 specially with no Avery Bradley to guard Dame on the ball and Collins/Nurk back. Grizz/Spurs get swept 100% of the time

Stays at 6? They're the 4th seed right now and 1 game back of 3rd.

It would not shock me if the Blazers upset them. Dame is going to run a muck with no Bradley. The Blazers can match their size and have fewer idiots in their rotation.

Cash those checks Green is a concern, as is Summer vacation Howard.

I would expect the Lakers to win but an upset would not surprise me one bit. The Lakers have role players who look content and high off their team success. They will cruise into the postseason where they will face a hungry team that has been clawing for their playoff life since entering the bubble.

Against the wrong team (Blazers) that could be a recipe for failure.

Didnt watch the rockets game, but the buckd went 9/35 from three and giannis played 33 minutes, and the turnover disparity was insane, granted harden and westbroik both played under 40 (harden only 34) but idk. Im just not that afraid of houstan, their main problem's gonna be on the glass and their usual solution is to play bigs off the court but they cant do that against AD

Alot of things had to go wrong in our loss against them and we can make more adjustments than they can, and im pretty sure vogel can make them

One of the rockets things is wearing down an opponent, but with westbrook and harden both taking an absurd load i doubt they can do that for 7 games (well act idk for westbrook lol but energized harden is scarier)

I feel alot of what the rockets do is do something ur not used to and idk how that pans out when someone, you know, gets used to them

Lol, what are you on about? The Blazers winning 4 out of 7 against Lebron and AD is pure fantasy, it's a scenario that doesn't even deserve consideration. You're talking about Dame "running amuck", but who the hell is going to stop Lebron and AD from dominating the series? AD alone bullied them and swept them off the court a couple years ago with a dreaful supporting cast in New Orleans...

I do agree Blazers have more potential to get one game than Grizzles or Spurs, but the series will still not be remotely competitive.

It doesn't matter if you're used to it or not. With 4 shooters on the floor, there's absolutely no stopping the ferocity of Westbrook's drives and he's one of the best players ever at finding shooters after driving into the paint. This is a sure fire formula for the Rockets to get consistently great looks from 3.

Then you have Harden half court ISOs, they're deadly, they put players in foul trouble and just like with Westbrook if you overcommit to stopping him he has the ability to find open shooters at will. There's no stopping the Rockets from getting consistent strong looks from 3; if their role guys are making them at a high rate, they'll be a massive problem for anyone.

While they can't indeed play AD off the court, they can seriously mitigate his defensive impact. I can see AD getting into serious foul trouble in some games of that series; a lot of the time he'll be protecting the rim alone against Westbrook running at him with a full head of steam or switched on to Harden at the 3-point line

Just realized, well now I hope they get up to 3rd seed.

LAC may face Dallas rd 1 (2v7). Then Hou if they win their 3v6 matchup. Then us.

That is a gauntlet

and without Montrezl Harrell maybe for the first round who knows maybe the Mavs can take 1 or 2 games from LAC in the first round we want Kawhi to be gassed by the time. The Lakers face him in the Wcf and that second round between the rockets and Lac might be a bloodbath for all we know so he might not even get to the Wcf.

I mean AD is the kind of center they specifically dont wanna go against lol, he might not have his usual rim protecting defensive impact but the idea is they play off centers and make teams play in a way that makes them uncomfortable, whereas all they do is force LA to put in their best lineup (AD at the 5) while stull having a huge rebound disadvantage over a series

Also, closing out on threes and defensive mobility is one of davis's strengths, not one of his weaknesses, unlike other bigs. If davis can play aggressive on the boards I doubt the rockets are a big threat

IMO Denver is probably the weakest of the Houston/OKC/Utah/Denver group since they no longer get their HCA. Utah is not far ahead either tho. Dallas is hard to evaluate, them being young probably hurts them a lot in these sort of games, but they're definitely still dangerous and quite strong for a 7th seed.

LAL, LAC, Houston, OKC are the clear top 4 imo.

Agreed with those top 4, but Utah probably least threatening imo. Denver at least theoretically could get the gang back together in time, but it seems doubtful. Utah is going to lose Conley at some point early in the playoffs (child being born) and without him too I really give them no chance. Dallas is interesting and I could see them upsetting somebody but I don't think they have the consistency for multiple rounds yet as young as they are.

Utah might honestly get better without Conley, but yeah I don't think they're actually a threat to win a playoff series either. But their style of place and pace might lend itself better to close games.

I don't expect the Blazers to win but I do expect multiple elongated series like the 2008 Celtics have faced.

The Lakers on paper have the most talent in the league but then you realize only two players on the whole roster played in the playoffs last season. A complete wild card team, imo.
