I just like MPJ better as he can play both 3 and 4. He can get his own shot off the dribble. Lauri has shown he can’t. MPJ shows he has potential as a playmaker too.
I’d want more than MPJ in the trade. Lauri and Hutch for MPJ and Morris would be a solid trade. I think MPJ has 2nd option potential I think Lauri will always need to be setup and therefore a 3rd option.
Every single person here would do this trade. Not a single person in Denver would though.
After his 30pt game it’s a no:)?
Millsap, Grant, and their other big (white Dukie, forget name) are all FA’s.
DEN traded Beasley and he played well for Minny. MPJ won’t get any shots once their 3 starters return. Interesting to watch. He has def shown top end talent. Lauri has shown that in flashes too. I don’t trust MPJ’s back anymore than I trust Lauri’s constant injured body (lots of nagging injuries that has made him worse but he still plays).

As such, if we get the 7th pick, what's our asking price in terms of a player (vs. trading back or into next year - which are hard to assess)?

I'd trade it for 15th and 26th with the Celtics.
Kinda hard to pinpoint a player I'd trade it for, because good teams won't send good players for draft picks, and bad teams already have high picks in this lousy draft.

There are some good players that will drop into the second round. A trade with 76ers makes more sense. They have 4 2nd round picks plus the 20th pick. I would trade Otto for Horford, pick 20, and first 2 second round picks. Otto can shoot, defend, and free up money for Phily.

I get that trade, but I doubt ownership would agree to pay that much for a mid to late 1st rounder and two 2nds.

Re: NBA Trade Thread
With the report of Boylen being retained for financial constraints and Zach Lavine's frustration, would the Bulls be interested in trading Lavine for Evan Fournier and Orlando's 1st round pick?
Shaves a couple million off the payroll, Fournier would be an expiring (and also put the ball in Cody's hands more), and you all pick up another draft pick.

How about Lauri and Otto for that deal?

Orlando wouldn't be able to take on Otto's contract without sending out an additional $28M.

Why Bulls should trade their best player ( Lavine ) for a player ( Fournier ) who's UFA summer 2021?
If Fournier would have had 2 or 3 yrs left of his contract then that would have been OK trade but in this case it's odd.
And don't get me wrong Fournier is good player but trade like that doesn't make any sense for rebuild team like Bulls.

Because they clear cap space for next year and pick up a 1st

Part of me wants to build through the draft but then the other side wants to trade for Chris Paul and Demar Derozan and keep our future pics at the same time, and let them show The young guys how to play and aid them in development and they all resign for cheap, and help bring Chicago back to a free agent destination ! Hmmm ??
Paul/ White / Dunn
Lavine/ white, Dunn
Derozan/ Hutch/#7
Markannen/ #7
Carter/ Gafford
I like it

I dunno about derozan but I really really want CP3 here as a leader for the youngins. I think Coby can come into form while CP3 declines

Re: NBA Trade Thread
Part of me wants to trade with the Celtics and nab Langford(if we don't move up). But I can't see the trade being possible unless we dangle Lauri or maybe Carter Jr.
Would they bite on Lauri since he is up for an extension soon and they need to pay Tatum soon? Selling low on both of them would be dumb. But is there any possibility for Lauri and Carter Jr. to continue their expected growth that was hindered due to this season.
I can't see AK and Eversley sitting on their hands this off-season. This team had issue last season(to say the least), with the lack of wing depth, the glut at PG, and the injury-prone starting line up (Besides Lavine and Sato).
They could also play it safe and roll out the same roster with the two draft picks and some minor signings to fill out the roster. So we can properly assess the roster with a new coach. But we have to play Lauri next off-season if we don't trade him. Decisions Decisions

AKME? More like MEAK with how they're afraid to make a move to push us in one direction.

Given the Boylen noise, I can see them sit on their hands on players. I can see them listening to offers, but shopping the young guys who have shown potential, like Lauri and WCj.

We need to swindle a team into taking Sato. Maybe trade him to New Orleans for Frank Jackson. But Frank Jackson actually is a talented useful player. We would probably have to throw in picks.

I have no problem trading Sato, but we need someone to play back-up SF, at least Sato can do that. Maybe that's through the draft, but I really like Sato in Wash, he was trash here, but I think that may have been more Boylen and a lack of talent on the floor than just Sato.

If we can get Toppin in the draft or other PF, I read NO may be less enamored with Ball. What about:

After Jazz get swept in first round...
Conley and Bog
For
Otto, Thad, and Sato
Otto and Conley are salary swaps and Jazz get one year contracts instead of 3 more years of Bog as he ages.
A bit risky for Bulls but Bog was unreal last year and would be a great player at SF. Smart. Vet. Can shoot. Good team defender.
Conley would help mentor Coby.
