In this case Jonathon Isaac

Also interesting because if he has to sit out next season, ORL has to make a decision on his contract without seeing him play. I assume his agent will ask for max.

This is a huge blow to Memphis as they are hanging on for dear life in that 8-9 seed. They better hope they stay in the 8th spot just to win 1 game. If they end up 9th and have to win 2, I dont like their chances.

Ja Morant is going to have to put up 30+ and his normal assists to make up for JJJ

I think POR overtakes MEM, Nurkic has looked incredible.

Would have been nice to have kept him.

I just looked at the box score. Cameron Payne played 20 minutes and shot 5-9 for 12 points with 3 assists, 3 rebounds and one steal.

Don't forget that dropping to the 10th spot is also a realistic outcome for the Grizzlies. With the way they have been playing and the loss of JJJ, I think they won't make it. The battle for the final playoff spot in the West is actually more fun than I expected (but injuries suck).

You are right. They also have a hard schedule left

Jazz today
OKC
Toronto
Boston
Bucks

I don't think they would have been favored in any of the games even with JJJ.

I wouldnt be surprised if its the Blazers vs Spurs for the playin in and Blazers enters the playoffs as the 8th seed.

MPJ balling out again. Will be fascinating to watch if this continues when Murray Harris and Barton return.

I'm content to pretend this MPJ thing isn't happening. Jesus Christ.

I will say, I never doubted that MPJ could be a good player , if healthy. Very key words-if healthy.

I don’t know what makes people think that an athletic 6’10 wing with handles and pull-up 3P skills could possibly be a terrible NBA player. 6’6, sure, you have a lot of your Romeo Langfords... but at 6’10? Like, why? What could possibly go wrong in their translation to this NBA? Ingram had raw skills, and still has a pretty awkward handle and pull-up shot, but he’s still a very good player since his clip improved. MPJ looked pretty smooth in his clips, but everyone was bashing his competition and low college sample size. At a certain point though, skills + size + athleticism don’t lie.

AFAIC injuries were and will be MPJ’s only draw-back. As expected, that does affect defense and effort, so it’s something to entirely consider. But why are we surprised he’s able to score 30 pts, since he’s healthy currently?

I remember having many arguments with the people who said he was "stiff", didn't have much of a handle, didn't have any offensive moves, was not very athletic, didn't see anything impressive in his high school tapes, etc, etc. Or those who said "it's just high school". These people know who they are. Of course it's still early, but he's looking like a bona fide star right now.

That’s because he can create for himself and he has Jokic setting him up.

The irony of passing on MPJ for Wendell because of health concerns. MPJ has played more games this season than Wendell in either of his two seasons.
