A watered down 2 for 1 probably doesn't make sense. I think that TS will go BPA no matter where we drat just to optimize talent and not bring in added youth.

L. Ball and Knicks could provide an interesting opportunity though
L Ball with Coach Tom Thibodeau could be interesting. The same for any of the young Knicks players.

LOL at the thought that this guy ends up being what we hoped Bruno would be.

There is something about this kid that makes me think he’s gonna stick around for a minute. Small school yes, but when you got some confidence and you can ball, it doesn’t matter as much, at least to me. FVV type to me that could give Trae a blow. He could facilitate a bit and take over the game on his own when needed. Late first early 2nd round guy but in 5 years in the draft redo a top 15 player.

Gross. I'd prefer Okongwu over Wiseman.

4. Atlanta Hawks: James Wiseman (Memphis, C, Freshman)

Image

The Atlanta Hawks might not care about filling needs if James Wiseman is still on the board. Opinions vary from scout to scout on his game and fit, but at No. 4, it's easy to picture Atlanta being too enticed by his 7'1" size, 7'6" wingspan and athleticism to settle on a perceived lower-upside player such as Deni Avdija, Tyrese Haliburton or Isaac Okoro.

And the Hawks' acquisition of Clint Capela, who has been injured, is limited offensively and has a tradable contract, shouldn't factor into the team's draft decision.

Wiseman would play behind Capela early on, but in Year 2 or 3, the Hawks could see more scoring ability around the block and mid-range touch from their 2020 first-rounder. In the meantime, he'll still give Trae Young a monster finishing/lob target and extra shot-blocking on defense.

I can't write off Wiseman. I hate high ceiling / low floor with a high pick, but he's #2 or 3 on my Hawks draft board

I don't want to give the Embiid comp to Wiseman, but he has shown the touch in his mid range game(small sample size) to make me believe he could be money from 16-18 ft with dedication. He has far more offensive potential than his common comparisons(Whiteside/Jordan). He could develop behind Capella for a year or 2 and breakout. Capella is a real good big who could become a legit trade piece. Whiteside is a 16pt 14 reb 2-3 blk type of player without any offensive fluidity or identity. 2 or 3 seasons from now JW could be a 24 pt 14 reb 3blk with a slightly above avg mid range. You cant pass that up.

I agree, besides Tatum, Celtics are one of the worst drafting teams in the NBA. They are only good at overpaying free agents.

The point is that we shouldn't completely write-off prospects just because they struggled shooting the ball in a single year of college. Guys like Okoro, Okongwu, Avdija can still greatly improve with time, hard work and proper coaching.

NOTE: Celtics are actually solid drafting team. Charlotte, NY Knicks and Orlando are bad drafters.

Whoa. We'll give you a chance to amend this statement about BOS drafting. They're pretty horrible at it. Tatum (only due to PHI stupidity) and Brown save them a bit, but if you look at Ainge's history it's pretty terrible.

Remember how many high picks they got from BKN that basically never made the league. Look at how many of their bench guys were drafted but aren't amounting to anything. Guys like Yabusele or even Ojuleye. Robert Williams isn't doing much either.

We could have used Cam Reddish as an example of College shooting, no need to bring the Celtics in the discussion particularly their drafting which hasn't been great.
