Giannis is a different cat, and euro players aren't as enamored with 'bigger markets' like American players seem to be

i think he stays unless something drastic happens in his last yr

He either signs the super max this off season or he’s gone. If he turns it down then the Warriors will move quickly to get something done.

No a lot of Raptors fans are trash, as we found out last year.

The taunting after KD got hut.

The bragging after Klay got hurt again.

They’re not the team I want most to lose like the Lakers it they’re not far behind.

Yeah they punch above their weight but they had humongous luck.

Toronto is a serious threat if Ujiri stays and the Warriors can’t get a trade done. GSW is first choice though.

Meh after all the lebronto jokes and winning a title, I’d imagine a lot of people going crazy. I’m really not against any team from winning other than the Bucks.

If Lebron wins another great, the only reason he doesn’t have 7 titles is because of the warriors. If Houston win they only won because steph wasn’t there to be their daddy.

This is a fun convo.

NO to the Lakers because the Lakers and Lebron. Double whammy, screw them both.

NO to Toronto because sooooo many Toronto fans try to talk smack against our championships while rationalizing theirs. Hypocrites, screw 'em.

YES to Clippers because Lakers fans would have a nervous breakdown and I'm all for that.

YES to Houston because I don't hate Westbrook and Harden and this is the only season they could win it without it coming at the expense of the Warriors.

Basically neutral for everyone else.

What happens if Giannis doesn't sign an extension and becomes a free agent in 2021, but the Warriors end up winning the 2021 championship without him? Does he even consider signing with a team that just won the championship?

Lakers vs Raptors in the Finals would be horrible. I wouldn't know who to root for.

Best case would be if Portland sneaks into the 8th seed, Dame goes crazy and pulls an upset against the Lakers, then go on to win a championship. Dame gets to win a ring. Melo gets a ring. I don't really dislike anyone in Portland. I wouldn't want Harden/Westbrook proving that statpadding wins championships, and would be funny seeing Patrick Beverly fail after all that smack talk he did against the Warriors in the home opener.

EDIT: Actually, Dallas would be pretty awesome in the Finals if they pulled off some upsets, too. Dallas or Portland in the Finals vs Boston and then Boston wins the championship.

Perfect regarding Giannis because if he doesn't win this season he may be more likely to want to leave Milwaukee. Or if Philly has a disaster postseason they may be open to shaking things up between Embiid or Simmons (possible trade to GSW including our Top 5 pick?)

I say the Clippers have much better chance than the Dubs. JW will make it happens. Plus, they have the richest owner in the league who wouldn't mind to pay a few more million. A dude made over 15B over this pandemic.

I’ve been out of the loop. Where are the Giannis/Warriors rumors coming from?

I know the Warriors would obviously go after him if he’s available. But do we know if he has the Warriors at the top of his list?

A lot of wishful thinking at this point, that if the Bucks don't at least get out of the East, Giannis may not sign a big extension which he would be eligible to do after this season, so in mid to late October.

Giannis wants to play with Curry. The Warriors are aware of this.

Have you investigated how this might be possible? Clippers have no draft picks and no obvious way to match salary. They could trade PG or Kawhi for Giannis but that's about it.

Warriors need:

1 Bucks don’t win the title
2 Giannis turns down super max
3 Giannis tells Bucks he’s not coming back period, and let’s teams know he only wants to play with GSW

Warriors are aware that Giannis told Steph he wants to play with him. They have to wait for steps 1 and 2 before they can start the process. In the meantime the Warriors will hope for the highest possible pick to get the best asset to be used in a trade for Giannis or any other star.

I can't really stomach any of the Lakers, Clips, Rox, or Raps winning a chip. Blazers upset as FFX said would be awesome, I have to root for that. This is the best chance for them, while they have both Nurkic and Whiteside on the roster and healthy -- that's a pretty beastly center tandem. I'd also be OK with Denver, they should have a decent chance once they get the rust off. Denver is 7-5 against LAL, LAC, MIL, TOR, and HOU.

I hate LA period. So anyone besides the Lakers, Clippers or Bucks.

I do enjoy the fact that people hate our team with a passion. Being the doormats of the NBA for years have me relishing being the target of envy and hate for the rest of the league. If the Dubs get Giannis the howling around the league would be twice the volume it was when KD came aboard.

Well, the Warriors can't sign him as a FA, it would have to be a trade. The only feasible salary match seems like Wiggins -- IMO, the Bucks might just as soon let Giannis walk as take on Wiggins and his contract. Of course, they would more likely trade him somewhere else, if it came to that.

If the Warriors hit on their draft pick this year, Wiggins proves somewhat competent, they win a chip or come close, then still have a high-level pick in next year's stronger draft waiting, it's going to be hard to justify emptying the cupboards for Giannis, as good as he is.
