Just like I predicted, this game may be strange and weird, but both teams will try to win.
Our two most efficient scorers Jokic and MPJ shoot 1-9 in 1st half but 17-30 in the rest of the game which not only means improved FG% but also much more aggressive game (they are also just 2-2 from FT in 1st half, but 12-12 in the rest). MPJ was out of gas in both overtimes, but note that he never played before restart single 30+ minutes game, but now played 45 minutes game twice!? Despite terrible 1st half and blank OTx2, 2nd half played on his new standards is enough for a good grade, including team highest +/- on +13.
But the biggest news today is not Joker and MPJ which after pathetic 1st half prove themself once again in the rest of the game, but Jamal Murray which body was definitely ready. His shooting is rusty after a long pause, so we see today rare 1-4 FT from him, but the best is to see him fit and healthy. Murray was 23-12-8, and he misses triple-double only because of zero assists in 1st half where for some reason Jokic has too much point guard duties.
Last season in playoff Morris was totally out of shape, and right now he playing some of his best basketball, while last season we didn't have Grant, so Nuggets are a much stronger team now than in 2019 not only because of Porter.
BAD THINGS: 2nd time in the row our opponents made franchise record in threes!? To be honest, I have no clue how on Earth team shooting 9-37 (24%) for the 3pt beat team which shoots 22-55 (40%) in a game where teams are tied in rebounds!? Also, while I waiting when Malone will finally stop with these last-minute substitutions with Jokic, he starts the same with Porter. Can you imagine Houston playing final minute without Harden and Westbrook because they are not elite defenders? Or next season GSW without Curry and Klay, or Nets without Durant and Irving? That is ridiculous, and after all, coach must trust in his stars.
