this is pivotal match for the play-in

if we win this, we should win against brooklyn, that would be two wins and then the dallas game is a really tough one, but who knows... two wins could get as 8th seed, but only if memphis goes 0-3 against toronto, boston and milwaukee, which is real possibility, but only if they dont rest their best players... even if memphis wins one game, we could still get that 8th seed, but only if we go 3-0... that la clippers loss was really bad, if we won that, 8th seed was pretty much realistic

well, one game at the time, lets win against ben simmons-less phila first

all of these bubble games have become really unpredictable because you don't know which good team will actually care about winning a game. Philly is in a battle with Indiana & Miami for the 4-5-6 seed, but would they rather play Boston or Miami or Indiana since HCA doesn't mean anything?

look at Memphis: they are reeling because of the loss of Jaren Jackson. They have Toronto, Boston, and Milwaukee left on their schedule so you wouldn't expect any wins. But none of those three teams have any reason to win, but plenty of reason to rest players and avoid injury. So, Memphis might be able to steal a win

Portland vs Philly? Blazers need a win but does Philly care? If they do it will be a tough game and Nurkic vs Embiid will be worth a ticket

Dame usually comes up big in the game right after one of his duds

Except if Lillard is exhausted. I think giving him (or his demanding of) a greater defensive assignment(s) is wearing him down. I hope I am wrong since without his star offensive play, the Blazers cupboard is somewhat bare.

A Wizenheimer sighting! Had me worried COVID-19 got you. But there have been zero obituaries for anyone with the first or last name Wizenheimer recently, so wasn't too worried.

That's the problem as these bubble games wind down... some teams are set so I would guess they'll still play their main guys for the most part, but they won't overplay them. The Clippers did that yesterday and the Blazers suddenly had to play against a bunch of guys they probably didn't know anything about or how to game-play against them. I think Memphis, who should go 0-3 in these last 3 games, just might actually win more than 1 game as a result. There is a dog fight with 4, 5, and 6 in both conferences so anyone playing those teams could have a difficult time. Is Whiteside playing today? They might need him.

That and the fact that one of their worst 3 point shooters drained one in the last minute of the game.

Ideally teams would want to play their stars to knock off more rust, though understandably there is risk of injury. However, it doesn't seem like it'd make sense to sit players and hope they get their legs under them when the playoff games start. That said, this entire season has a huge asterisks on it, so maybe it's not all that important. Probably better to play it safe and have your players healthy next season when hopefully fans can return to stadiums and there are better revenue opportunities, than to have them get injured in a shortened revenue-depleted season. There have been some pretty competitive games so far though.

Pels look to be on their way to a loss today, so a Blazers win I think will seal the fate of the Pels.

We should have won yesterday, and definitely need a win today.

So the Suns are ahead of the Spurs now with a worse record? Does anyone know how that works? Espn has the Suns behind Portland and above the Spurs. Very close right now between those teams.

NBA.com has Spurs over Suns. ESPN has it the other way probably an error by ESPN

I thought with 4 games left, that we needed to win 3 of them to get #8. Looked at the Clips as the toughest opponent of the 4, but when I heard Leonard, Harrell and Beverly were out, I felt we were given a gift. But we blew it, but nothing has changed. Just making things hard on ourselves like usual. We now need to win-out, but take one at a time.

Philly will be tough without Hassan. I'm also concerned with the fatigue factor in not only Dame... but in Nurkic and CJ as well. What pisses me off is, I find it totally unnecessary. Gabriel has been solid, every time I see him get a chance. An X-factor possibly, and a definite disrupter much like GTJ is. Playing well, changing the tide back to the Blazers, building mojo with good play from Simons / GTJ / Gabriel... and... kill it.

Stotts at times seems to have no feel for the game. Predictable and set in his rotations, which allows for easy game planning by other coaches. Also extremely slow to react, and seems baffled when other coaches make adjustments to their game plans.

We need this game!!!

Blazers should be motivated after the fairly embarrassing game yesterday.

2 pretty ticky-tac fouls on Nurkic in 1.5 minutes is gonna make this game very difficult.

That call on Nurkic was one of the worst ever. Ref knows it will pull him from the game, and who wants to see two of the best Cs go at it?
