Terrence Ross Leaves NBA Bubble

Post#1 » by Howard Mass » Mon Aug 10, 2020 8:28 pm

Terrence Ross has left The NBA Bubble due to a non-Covid related medical issue.

This makes the swing position even thinner and is yet another player out for The Magic.

People will remember that I was as critical as anyone of the bubble based on what we saw from other leagues attempting comebacks — with and without bubbles.

But I have to admit that the NBA has been the gold standard of how to pull this off. I tip my hat to them. No one asked for perfection (even myself) but they have a working system.

Life has to go on. We just ask for a uniform, coherent plan has on sound logic. Bravo Adam Silver. Can you share it with Washington?

During the Sacramento game David Steele was gushing about how healthy the team is, for the first time all season, and it's been a disaster since that statement. Might as well waive the white flag .

Concerning, because they have a lot of medical stuff for injury diagnosis in the bubble. I'm hoping it's nothing too serious and just a precautionary measure.
Get well soon Ross!

He just posted "I'm good Y'all" on his Insta story 35mins ago...

Hopefully just a quick checkup of some sort, a few hugs for the wife and kids and back for the playoffs.

NBA Playoffs start August 17th.
Mandatory 10 day quarantine period for any players leaving so earliest TRoss could come back is the 20th. So he’d likely miss 1or2 games of what could be a 4 game series.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

4 day quarantine if the absence is team approved and the player tests negative daily while out of the bubble.

Gary Clark needs to step up. And Frazier has a chance to prove he belongs in the NBA.

We Magic fans need to start believing in Iwundu's game.

p.s. : please get healthy Carter-Williams !

LOL... normally you're supposed to say that your all-star will just have to do more... but we know that's not happening so we have to bank on Clark, Frazier, and Iwundu

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29638339/magic-terrence-ross-returns-bubble-non-covid-tests-quarantine

Orlando Magic guard Terrence Ross has returned to the NBA's bubble at Walt Disney World after undergoing off-site medical tests not related to COVID-19, the team said Tuesday.

Ross left the bubble after Sunday's game against the Boston Celtics because of a "personal matter" that required off-site tests. The Magic said the "league-physician advised tests" came back negative.

Ross can return to action once he clears quarantine, but he will not be available for Tuesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets.

Ross, 29, is Orlando's third-leading scorer this season, averaging 14.7 points per game.

Also, Michael Carter-Williams (foot tendon strain), Evan Fournier (illness) and Aaron Gordon (hamstring) will not play against the Nets and are listed as day-to-day.

This just strikes me as very strange, but whatever, glad he's OK.

Just glad he is back. Sounds like he should be in full form by playoff- time.

I DO NOT fear the deer.

Give LeBron all of Kobe's ability to focus, will to win and clutch capacity and he would be the greatest of all time.

So, Terrence gave a little bit of detail of what happened on his podcast.

Basically chest pains, tests came back all clear, blamed the food in the bubble but it didn't sound like the first time he has had these kind of pains.

Approx amateur transcript:
TRoss wrote:I'm fine. Honestly bro I don't know what happened. It was just like a... I just, I remember I had dinner at the team room, walked to my room, got in bed. Actually I ordered another meal. Ah, like a chicken grilled sandwich, whatever. Ate that, and then I started feeling like these... little... almost like, like, really really bad heartburn at first, but it's not heartburn, and it felt like it was just like kinda... How can I describe it felt like it was kinda like... um... like a sharp pain in my chest bro I don't know what it was, but it was like unbearable, it was getting to the point, you remember I called you. I called you and I was like, "bro, I'm getting these f*cking chest pains again, I don't know what the hell is happening" and then, and then, you seen me bro I was in pain bro I was like, on the ground... I was like ok I gotta call the team doctor. And then I did that... I don't know what it was bro and I think it's... I dunno, either way and it just got worse over like the next... hour bro it was just getting worse and worse and I was like I need to go somewhere for this bro.

Stephen Madison wrote:... Did you ride in an ambulance?

TRoss wrote:Yeah I had to, yeah bro it was bad. So when I got there I did all the heart tests, all the little EKGs and the little whatever they did on me... tests. And then it pretty much came back normal so it has to be something else, so, you know... you know, I think it might be like a... What's the word... Like a gastro-intestinal, something like that

TRoss wrote:I think it was just the... I'm not used to the quality of food here, and I think that might have something to do with it bro. Cause... whatever, I don't care, I don't know what it is... I don't know but these chicken tendies are greasy as sh*t, and I had to stop eating em for the week so...

Stephen Madison wrote:... They haven't told you how long you have to be in there huh?

TRoss wrote:No, not yet, so we'll see. Either way man, holding it down. Reading these scouting reports. Watching these games. Riding my bike...

In Clifford's media comments after practice today he said they expected Terrnce back either Friday or Saturday.

Hmmm. Kinda sounds like it could be a panic attack and anxiety.
