I'm OK with cashing out on this thing this year and letting Danny consolidate this pick and others into a quality big man. We desperately need one.
Also, there's going to come a reckoning at some point in the next couple of seasons, where either we start to move on from the Haywards and Walkers of the world and reset around Tatum's timeline, or do the completely unthinkable and move the youth in another NBA-shaking series of moves to contend on Walker and Gordo's timeline (Giannis, anyone?).
The sooner you get a high-pedigree player into your system, the greater a chance he'll be able to function as a significant part of those machinations.
I don't have anything really specific in mind, I'm just really hyped about the idea of adding a top-10 talent to this team and getting him up to speed. We've had a lot of misses on mid-range picks lately. We could use a win.
