Two tanking champs battling it out. This could be bigger than the fake championship, teams are playing in the bubble

You guys think we’re gonna beat Toronto just because Jo’s playing? Cute.

Got to have the Paul Pierce “mugged” face to get fouls.
Nowadays its so easy to get calls.

It's a pretty good article about the things he does (actively avoiding contact) vs what he should be doing in certain situations to force the refs hand.

Ok.
After watching the Raps game. My impression is...
I think this team, without Ben, will look real good in the playoffs.
The spacing is much better. Then BB’s system is just more suited for this type of roster. Remember on Bb’s last season with the SAS when they would beat teams with their second stringers composed of guys like Neal, Mills and Diaw? We kind of looked like that team.

Re: Championship hopes
I cant remember which game but there was a game when the commentator said Neto looked good in our scrimmage. Then he dropped consecutive around 20 pt games. Im finally seeing why

Of course he is. We don't want to pay him. And we already have his replacement arguably playing better (on one side of the court at least) than him. I hope he has a big playoffs so we can get some value out of him.

Re: Championship hopes
I do wonder how much of an influence a playoff run (ie at least ECF) would have on trading Ben. I understand he's a great talent, but if we are getting farther than we ever have, maybe it paints a clear picture that we have a fit issue between him and Embiid.

Re: Championship hopes
I think these playoffs will likely heavily impact the future of the team.
If the team moves past the Celtics and is at least competitive in the second round while playing good it will probably motivate the FO to look for Simmons trades. Most people think that the fit between Simmns and Embiid is not that good, but if the team plays better (at least offensively) without Simmons then it will be hard to justify keeping Simmons and his contract here. In that scenario (SIxers move past the Celtics and look good and competitive in the playoffs) i would also expect Brown to stay.
If on the other hand the team looks bad and lose easily to the Celtics, Brown is gone (Brand should be gone regardless) and Embiid's status in the team is in question, as it would be the third year he will have disappointed.

I'd be pretty shocked if they moved on from Simmons regardless of what happens. And I've got Embiid as the safest person in the whole organization as long as he wants to be here.
Now... Any other player, who knows?
Agreed that Brown is coaching for job. EB might depend on what coach they bring in, but I don't think he'll get outright fired.
