She clearly didn't go public before this, but it's unlikely it was a complete secret. Organizations go deeeep into the history of draft prospects when scouting them (beyond interviews with them, they will have in depth character interviews with people all around them and can also hire private detectives to dig up stuff).
When you're hiring a lead assistant you should be doing to same due dilligence. Masai and MLSE as a whole dropped the ball on this one.
The alternate reality is that MLSE did do their homework and Adrian Griffin was entirely open regarding his ex-wife, children and the family court decisions. We just don't know.
Messy divorces are common, it isn't a reason to not hire someone. The allegations are clearly new and have never been reported to authorities even during the custody hearings otherwise criminal charges would have been pursued. I am assuming these allegations also weren't even included in the accusers two books that are both on the subject of marriage to an NBA player / coach otherwise we would have heard of it before (they are not mentioned in any interview she has done previously promoting those books).
MLSE need to conduct their own investigation immediately but it's a big stretch to assume they were in dereliction of their moral duty.
