Once upon a time, it was a common put-down of leftists that they were too uptight and that Republicans had all the fun (partied, got laid, whatever). But it seems like a flock of Stephen Millers who were hated by everyone in high school are the base now. It must be difficult to develop a sense of humor when you have to spend so much time cataloging your Nazi memorabilia collection.

Case in point, here is the cartoon from a nationally distributed conservative Australian newspaper

It’s a well established fact that Conservative/Republican/Right wing comedy is not funny. There have been numerous attempts at a Daily Show version of the right that have failed. Mostly because right wing humor punches down and there’s an inability to laugh at themselves.

The only good "conservative" humorist/satirist was PJ O'Rourke though he's more of a "libertarian." Maher used to have him on his show when it was good.

Michael Bloomberg and John Kasich will each get more time than AOC at the DNC convention.

That closing line gets a chef's kiss. Whole thing is penned brilliantly, bars for days. The AOC endorsement ad is gold too, the generational play is golden.

It's going to happen, man. Makes perfect sense too. Harris will be the presumptive nominee in 2024. I don't think Harris can pick a VP that will make her stronger than Markey/AOC and we know how well they get along since they put The Green New Deal together. And I'm gonna go out on a limb and declare that "climate change" will be front and center in 2024. Harris will never "out-left" them or generate as much excitement.

The whole article is bananas. Some of these looneys are the new Tea Party and are running for office. Here's another quote:

The highest-profile adrenochrome incident took place in 2018, when Google CEO Sundar Pichai was questioned by the House Judiciary Committee about a conspiracy called “Frazzledrip.” (“Heard of Frazzledrip?” reads one comment on The Sisters of Mercy song.) The crackpot theory involved a mythical video, supposedly squirreled away on Anthony Weiner’s laptop, that if leaked, would show Hillary Clinton and her one-time aide Huma Abedin performing a satanic sacrifice in which they slurped a child’s blood while wearing masks carved from the skin of her face.

All I can think of is Duke in Fear and Loathing taking that Pineal Gland extract.

My father and I both read Fear and Loathing when I was around 12 years old. He was reading it on a public bus in Manhattan and burst out laughing like a crazy person and got lots of stares. It was that kind of book.

I also read Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail a few years later which was something else. Edmund Muskie high on ibogaine on the campaign trail. Too bad Hunter didn't live to cover this. Or maybe better not.

We interrupt this thread to bring you a message from the POTUS:

“I have done more for WOMEN than just about any President in HISTORY! As we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of women’s voting rights, we should build a BEAUTIFUL STATUE in Washington D.C. to honor the many brave women who made this possible for our GREAT COUNTRY. Congress should send me H.R.473 ASAP and make this happen! It will INSPIRE all women to continue being bold and brave in achieving their DREAMS!”

and now we return to our regularly scheduled programming:

 A Harris and Cuomo ticket makes a lot of sense for how these mechanisms work but Idk if he keeps the covid halo effect long enough. I wonder if they’ll try Pete or Beto again tbh...yuck to all three though.

My timeline is two cycles before the progressive presence inside legislative politics has enough teeth to possibly bolster a presidential run (also generational differences of opinion on politics will really be landing).

I want AOC to build the steam to get schumer out and build the resume via senate presence before she’s on a national ticket.

There are still so many questions about how Harris will manifest. I suspect she may end up being more left on domestic issues than some expect, but that she'll also put considerable effort into restoring American alliances and influence abroad which will go hand in hand with cleaning out and rebuilding the State Department here and abroad which got gutted and perhaps a commitment to defense spending that feels more like the status quo to the left.

Cuomo's character is questionable. One, he initiated an special investigation into corruption but when the investigator honed in on Cuomo, he shut it down. Two, it appears that his office is under-reporting the nursing home deaths in NYS.

But, Remi is correct, if not Cuomo then it will be Mayor Pete or Beto. The lines have been drawn!

You guys are projecting your gripes into the future. Not even Knickstradamus has a damn clue what the Harris ticket will be in four years. The auditions for the comedy show Saul Alinsky's Paranoia Hour won't be held until January 2024 so you have time.
