Too gorgeous a day here to watch the game, but I like the result.

7 teams are gonna compete for the last two playoff spots in the West next season. Kings and Wolves are the only clear worse team than the Grizzlies. Maybe OKC? Depending on what happens to CP3. In any case, I don't think Memphis will be better than 12 teams next year. So at worst, we get somewhere between 16-18th pick?

Yeah, definitely. I see lottery - probably in the 10-14 range to start depending on how bad the last couple east teams are. Young teams look great sometimes, then, um, don't, later. I think people underrate how much Crowder/Iggy helped that team early this year.

young teams , who's pick we own, look great. then later, when we don't own their pick, they don't. really strange phenomenon.

just checking in to let everyone know Im having a hard time moving on from this thread. 5 years of monitoring and were nearly closed on this chapter.

Just be better than Jeff Green, whatever this pick evolves in.

Iguodala didn't play 1 minute for Memphis.

Yeah, but him holding out and setting a ***** example helped galvanize the team.... or, whoops forgot about that.

Celtics pick 14th in this year's draft. (Unless we trade the pick, that is.)

Thank you, Uncle Jeff. Here's to all the benzos.

I wonder if the Celtics can package all 3 picks to move into the top 10.

Easily. What an insane overpay to move up 4 spots.

Package all of them to go get Haliburton if he falls a bit. He will never be the pick because he's not a Danny type pick and drafting for upside is always the way to go. Haliburton would be the backup PG this team could use. He won't ever be an all-star I don't think. But he will not bust, and we just need someone who won't bust at this point.

Champ rosters are put together a good guy or two on their rookie contracts, an all-star vet leading the way, and a deep bench of vets with the surprising rookie flashed in. The C's are essentially that but without the bench of Eddie House and company. What I'm saying is a long-winded way of saying the team isn't set up to win now. It's set-up to win in a few years when the Js get even better. On that timeline, I don't mind burning a pick on a floor solid backup PG.

It's not worth it anyway, 7-14 in this draft are all the same caliber.

Yah it's a weak draft overall...a lot of B level players.

I'd rather them trade the 3 picks for a missing piece to go on a real championship run. A difference maker off the bench. Whatever it may be.

if we don't want 3 first rounders anyways for tax/roster reasons we might as well.
unless we can trade something for a future pick.

Teams that don't have a FRP in the upcoming draft: HOU, IND, LAC, MEM
Teams that may want more FRPs now in exchange for a future one: ORL, PHX, OKC, NOP. MIN, DET, CLE, CHI, CHA, ATL

Our FO can contact any of those teams if we wish to unload a couple of our FRPs for future ones.
