If we can get the best shooter at #19 I'd be down for that.

Yup. The bubble was devastating for the pick.

So i'm confused. Pick was locked for lottery teams but not for playoff teams?

Correct. And Indy went on a tear. We're picking 24th.

Picking 24th vice 19th, it's like we lost a future 1st.

As of now Maxey is my target and hopefully he can develop into an above average defender. Worst case scenario is we get a bomber off the bench

Everything I've seen and read already puts Maxey in the above average defender category. I thought the question is whether the shot is consistent or not.

You are correct. Maxey is already a POA bulldog and smart team defender. I believe in the shot despite a low-ish release point, but that along with passing are his main question marks.
He is #6 on my big board though, overall I AGREE! Target Maxey!

Oh yea, I'd love to add Maxey. Just not sure how that's possible.

Jazz moved up from 24 to 13 using Trey Lyles to get Mitchell, so who knows. If only DJ was even in the stratosphere of 2017 Trey Lyles caliber value.

Re: Indiana Pacers Draft Pick Watch Thread
Moving up from the 20s into the late-lottery or mid-1st is easily doable, especially in this draft. I hate when GM's always say in hindsight "we tried to trade up for *insert player who became an All-Star* but someone else vetoed it" because you know it's complete BS (see: pretty much every GM 4 years after the Giannis draft). Smart organizations tend to identify guys that they like and aggressively pursue them. Dumb organizations and GM's sit on their hands and concoct excuses to why they couldn't move up.

I love Maxey's toughness and aggressiveness, just not sure he's the kind of guy I'd move up for. Oshkosh's Finest, on the other hand...

He's like a shorter Middleton.
Seems more aggressive than Khash. I like what I see.
You know I love watching draft prospect videos. I wish I were Bucks EU Scout, or something, that would be a dream job for me and most of you I guess too. Anyway talking about Sam Merrill.
What I like on Sam Merrill and shared this video ?
1) The most important thing I like is his 3P shooting, this is obvious by looking at his stats. But the "true scout", is searching for more details, for example if it was a streaky season or something ? The answer is No, he has been a good shooter for years.
So the experienced eye test what does it say to you ? My eye test goes through his shooting mechanics and form, his shot selection, and if there is any hesitation before shooting... The Results are ... this dude is a lights out shooter, confident, no matter the circustances his shooting mechanics are the same. I know its highlights were everything goes in, BUT LOOK at his shooting form... its always the same ... he gave me Drazen Petrovic vibes with his quick release too.
2) He is ball handler and plays the pick n roll well. I mean we miss so much a PG who just pulls up a three one dribble after a high pick n roll. Bledsoe doesn't have it, George Hill is a good 3P% shooter BUT he is like Brogdon he has a slow release and can't perform fast and accurate with little room. Only Khris has it but you know he likes his 2pt game more and we certainly need more players to take this kind of shots and be a playmaker too.
3) He is 23 but this is actually good for the Bucks cause we are a win now team that needs High IQ players, not kids making 20 tattoos and changing 10 haircuts in a season. I really don't mind him being 23. Some in the comments said that he is like Luka Doncic, I get some similarities but he is not close, but yeah a playmaker that can shoot (with not so good athleticism) I get it.
Conclusion: He is projected as a 2nd Round Pick or Undrafted or whatever. I would put him on my watch list and maybe buy a 2nd or trade down for 2 2nds or something.

I'd be happy with Bolmaro.
