IDK, is it a coincidence the last year the pick number one - that everybody knew was zion - went to new orleans (a franchise which just lost its star player in free agency) and the pick number two to memphis (a franchise which was at risk of relocation) ?

Team officials are in the room when they do it. They literally watch the whole thing go down.

It doesn't matter who wins the top picks, people will find reasons to believe that it's fixed.

This. There is a story for why every result is a scam. If the Warriors win it's because the NBA wants them to stay strong with their new arena, blah blah blah. If it's Atlanta it's the NBA wants to build a strong fan base in ATL for the first time ever

If Zion was in this draft and we got number 1 we’d take him, but damn his injury and weight situations are scary as hell.

Are they going to be in the room this year?

The whole concept of a lottery is a scam. Yeah they had to do something about tanking but that didn't stop the 76ers did they?

So they "adjusted the odds" but made it even more random.

I think in most years, it wouldn't be bad for the worst 3 or 4 teams to have similar odds to get the top pick. But there are years where there is one or two teams which are far below the rest of the league or other lottery teams that they get screwed if they don't get the top players.

We're probably going to see that happen, some team wins like 7 games while the next worst team wins 20 and the worst team doesn't get some top generational players, relegating them to 5 more years of being bottom dwellers.

They are the worst team. Yes they had injuries.

But they were giving a lot of minutes to players who probably don't belong in the NBA.

They have no prospect of improving the roster without a high pick.

I like the Hawks chances at improving ..Cam Reddish really surprised me with his determination ..He’s going to be an elite perimeter defender..they’ve got some nice pieces..

Huh? They have the tax MLE and TPE. They have multiple assets to make the team better.

GSW probably wouldn't be mad, but the ability to trade down and get a decent asset in return would be gone.

Yep...the leverage for a trade that the top pick(s) get you is what is at stake.

What would New York do in taking on salary if they new they could get Lamelo from the Warriors? Warriors could dump dump dump on them! lol

Anyway...the sucky Warrior history of the draft lottery has me nervous...lol.

Someone compared Lamelo to Doncic, Trae Young.

OK with his broken jump shot he's going to run pick and rolls that effectively?

Or will he be able to finish as well as those two?

Lamelo looks more suited for an And1 mixtape than the NBA
