Agreed. Between being injury prone, and the state of sports with COVID (who knows what the NBA season will look like next year) he will opt in and take that 34 million dollars.

Celtics chances 100% take a hit. Without Hayward the Celtics might not make it past the 2nd round.

If I did the arithmetic correctly, Semi scored 45 points in 104 minutes in the bubble, with 36 of those points -- i.e. 80% of his total -- coming on 12-31 3pt shooting.

That's about as pure as 3-and-D gets.

I don't understand. You mean he will take the 34 next year and then get a new contract for 20 a year? Seems like he'd have to have a hell of a year with being 31 and having so many injuries.

While I feel some overstate his next contract he did put up 18/7/4 this year. If he can do something similar next year 3/60 seems reasonable. Some people think he can opt out and get 30/year which seems crazy to me

Worst signing in Celtics history? Certainly top 5..

I mean its not entirely his fault for the injuries but damn nothing good came out of this signing.

Yeah I don't think Hayward is going anywhere unless/until he gets traded. We'll be one of the only teams who can afford to give him what he's worth (~20 mill/yr) and he doesn't play aggressively enough to get more money. I figure Ainge will definitely be looking to trade Gordon during his next contract though.

Brad looks incredibly dumb having spent no time developing Romeo over the course of this season. We knew something like this could happen. We even knew Hayward was going to miss at least a few games for the birth of his child.

Apparently this injury is closer to 8 weeks than 4 weeks. Not sure what the Celtics know that we don't..maybe they figure that at 4 weeks he can toughen it out if it's a big game? Would be nice if we could have gotten him back for games 4 or 5 of the 2nd round if we got there, but not even.

at this point i'm hoping gordo opts out but i don't think he will.

the only good news is none of these injuries are career threatening. and this wasn't our year anyways.

Jesus. How on earth does he get hurt like this? Every time he starts to play well. And it is all random too.

None of these injuries he can Play with, like Kyrie did. Legit off the floor. 4 weeks is conference finals. Smh.

That is ridiculous. He played 52 games this year and had great numbers.

He was near his all-star level this past year.

I think he might go 3 for 70 his next contract. Seems fair.

I don't agree with the Romeo part. Romeo played a decent amount before the restart, including against the Lakers.

Also, he has torn ligaments in his hand. Development or not, he's going to struggle shooting with that.

It’ll be re-evaluated in 4 and then either announced his season over or he had a setback in recovery

I don't even care about shooting from him right now. We have enough guys for him to swing the ball to if the shot isn't falling. And he has a good dribble-drive game.

Semi might shoot 'okay' but if he tries to drive or is missing shots, disaster ensues.

Source? I think reports just say he'll miss "approximately 4 weeks"

Sheed
Knight
Jermaine O Neal.
Dominique
Gugliotta
Blount (they resigned him. F him)
Also can't forget Never Nervous.

Gordon is nowhere near the suck on that list.

Hopefully not on the Celtics unless it's off the bench. Come on he'll be in his mid thirties held together by duct tape while the Jays are in their primes..

We obviously lose some firepower against Toronto but he will be back for Bucks and Finals.
We will be ok and this will be a blessing in disguise ... Jays will be relied on even more, which is good thing they are ready AND a young player or two or 3 will step up, I can feel it ....Grant and Rob both flashed excellence last night !

It's more minutes for alot of very young and very talented guys to show that they belong .... I am not upset by this at all, Gordon will be back ! young guys will rise to the occasion in meantime
