So much for Waiters and Smith. I have no idea why the **** Vogel let Green shoot 8 threes tonight...

2 missed free throws by LeBron.
2 missed free throws by AD.

5-32 from 3. KCP: 0-9 (0-5 3), LeBron: 1-5 3PT, AD: 0-5 3PT, Green: 2-8 3PT, Caruso: 0-3 3PT. Totally disgusting. If we don't make 11-15 three's a game as a team, we're not going to win.

Also, absolutely dumb decision by Vogel to take Kuzma off the floor for Danny Green after Kuzma's run where we went up 6.

Vogel made some really poor mistakes on some obvious substitutions. He’s no good at in-game adjustments, got outcoached down the stretch by Stotts.

KCP needs to play way less. Danny Green better find the legs under his shot.
PG: D Lo / Reaves / Vincent(IL) / JHS
SG: Christie / Dinwiddie / Lewis / Mays
SF: LBJ / Prince / Reddish / Windler
PF: Rui / Vando(IL) / LBJ
CTR: AD / Hayes / Wood

Modern era NBA titles:
LAL 11, CHI 6, SAS 5, BOS 5, GSW 4

I don't care that Green shot 8 3s, somebody has to take wide open 3s on this team, but I just can't get my head around how totally awful we are at shooting 3s.

Have we had a stretch all season, where we were consistently decent from 3 and had a decent volume?

This is a game when I might have tried Smith in Green's minutes in the 4th. Green didn't provide much D and was useless from range, have to get creative.

Also, AD. 8-24 from the field. I know he loves Kobe, but that's not a way to honor him. Lots of missed shots around the rim. And 11 rebounds for him isn't enough.

Not concerned. AD played like ass and the team shot 16% from three. Neither is likely to happen again going forward.

All you need is to have either AD or LeBron not be terrible and this will be a 5 game series win.

Kobe would of went one on one with Lillard. LeBron just doesn't have that, and that's why I'm not a huge LeBron fan.

Let's not act like Portland played all that well either... But yeah... If we shoot 30% from 3, we win this one going away.

I just wish I could say I had any confidence in our ability to do that regularly.

The thing is neither has been consistently impressive in the bubble. The bubble mvp is actually playing for the Blazers.

KCP looks like a shell of the player he was heading into the shutdown. Which with Bradley being out, is really tough for us. Dude looks like he has no legs out there... Everything he does is flat.

Still expect us to smash Portland cuz their roster is not good outside of their crazy shooting guards, but have no faith in this team to compete for a title

We have to bring KCP off the bench and start Caruso on Thursday. And don't play McGee anymore. Play Howard.

It's time to make some changes.

Play Kuzma WAY MORE. Play Caruso more. Get Waiters some run. Barely any KCP and Less Green.

Moreso than that, A Kobe team would have gotten aggressive when the other team started getting chippy and talking smack... LeBron teams always seem to get like introspective or something.
Dwight and sometimes Caruso are the only guys who seem to take offense and show some fire.

LeBron is so used to just being so superior to the next best player on the court, I think he may think it a sign of weakness to respond or something. But Kawhi and Giannis are already better than him individually, and his gap over the rest of the league is rapidly shrinking.
He needs to get that vet edge guys like MJ and Kobe got as the clock started winding down.

And AD still thinks he's a kid... He needs to get some of that Dwight mentality too... When a dude knocks you down, don't cry to the ref... Go after the whole other team and make them pay. I don't think he realizes yet that he's better than 99% of the NBA right now, and can exert his will if he wanted.

Kobe and MJ were killers... We got a Businessman and a NiceGuy...

If the Lakers continue this trash shooting, I wouldn't be surprised if the Blazers sweep. Perhaps the Lakers might have it planned out already though, since they're planning on wearing black to their possible funeral during game 4 lol.

TBF, at least lebron showed up. Not at the ft line, but he showed up. Your boy AD was no where to be seen for most of the game. He had one good quarter if that.

Kobe called Pau out for not showing up and being soft.

edit: I take that back. wtf Lebron only had 23 points. I assumed he had at least 27-30pts

Another thing: I hate the way we handled those 8 seeding games. Playing around with crazy lineups. Playing guys like THT, Smith, Waiters, etc. Hockey style substitutes.

Look at the teams that are rolling and playing well: Toronto, Houston, Portland. Teams that played their guys and rotations. You don't need to play LeBron and AD 36+ minutes, but you do play your normal rotation and get guys comfortable and in rhythm. Frustrating.
