I've changed my tune a bit on Bey. His offensive potential is actually quite good. If we move on from Tobias, I would not fault a Bey pick.

Saddiq Bey is basically Kuzma with better handle. For better and for worse. If you're looking for a dude to outproduce his draft slot, he's a good bet. If you're looking for a dude that's a winning piece that you might want to keep beyond his rookie deal, I'm probably looking elsewhere.

If we have to have a little guy who plays tough defense on this team, I wouldn't hate it if we drafted Malachi Flynn. I feel like I talked about him before, but he really does look like a guy who will be in the league a while.

My guess is, the reason why he opted to play overseas is he’s trying to hide his weakness to play as a wing while it’s the competition where he can play full time PG.

Maybe he turns out to be like Doncic. But he’s more like Rubio for me.

Edwards will take years to develop and I’d stay away from selecting him first overall, just by looking at his shooting numbers and BPM.

Wiseman is the best option for first overall. The lack of college games makes it hard to evaluate him. I don’t think there’s anyone at his level among the draftees. I see him like Ayton but better on defense. Can potentially be a very good to elite rim protector.

Lamelo can definitely light it up as a scorer, but he's going to be an inefficient mess. He'll be like a mix between Austin Rivers and Nick Young.

Edwards is a pretty safe bet to translate pretty quickly as a scorer, IMO. Just not a big fan of his motor or ability to defend. He'll be a guy that can drop 20, but kinda in a meh way. Like a Jaylen Brown type.

I do see the Ayton comparison for Wiseman. Not sure if he's more defensively sound, though. I think they both are weak defenders. They're just guys that can block shots at the rim but get torched in the pick and roll. If you can't defend in space as a big, you're a pretty bad defender in the modern NBA. Onyeka Okongwu is the only big in the lottery worth a damn on defense.

If I'm picking #1, there's only two guys on my big board. Killian Hayes or R.J. Hampton.

I just saw clips of Killian Hayes today. I think he’d be special.

I have Hayes #1 then Wiseman #2.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

I've settled on full PnR blitz in this draft with the thought process that Brett will be fired when the Sixers get knocked out and we hire a coach with that background.

-Trade up for Kira Lewis. Depending on other moves, might be a concession that we're going to take a year or two before competing to get Kira up to speed. However he could be a guy that comes off the bench and leads the second unit if we can land a competent PnR lead guard for the starting unit.

-Use the first to move Tobias; draft Malachi Flynn, Mason Jones, and Malik Fitts in the second round. Malachi is a TJ McConnell that can create/shoot. High effort, IQ and talent, but small stature. Mason Jones is a Shake type who draws an absurd amount of fouls, has a great shooting profile, generates deflections, plays with a high IQ. Fitts also draws a huge amount of fouls and can become a solid roll man. We obviously need players that can get to the line because it's currently only our center doing so (with Ben out) and when our shooters go cold (9-33 from three last night), we need points in a different way. Getting these guys in our system would just be a piece of the puzzle, but obviously veteran moves in the offseason would be the deciding factor for a championship. This would get us possible options for depth and possible future starters if any of them pan out, a la Shake Milton.

going to go down the guard rabbit hole to make myself depressed when we either sell the pick for a printer or take another 3 and D guy who is more D than 3.

Once Thybulle hones that setshot, though, he's going to be an ace playoff contributor. So keep going that direction (Josh Green, Devin Vassell, etc) and eventually you'll be another Toronto.

Okongwu is going to be a far more impactful player than Wiseman, IMO. Especially in regards to his switch versatility on the perimeter. He moves like a wing, defensively. Definitely worthy of a top 3 pick, IMO.

1a. Hayes
1b. Hampton
3. Okongwu

Does anyone know who Givony gave to us in his latest mock on ESPN+?

I'm Italian. I'm a fan of Nico, high bb IQ, but he really needs to bulk up.
Not sure he's the right pick here.

First, I would like to grow up a small forward, someone who could become a three level scorer eventually.

Second I'd like to find a traditional pass first PG with range. Maybe Nico could bè that guy.

Third a scoring guard ala Bane or Quickley

Who Givony gave us in the second round?

Mannion is a fantastic shotcreater in the mid-range and will probably be a much better shooter in the NBA than he was at Arizona this year (where he shot an underwhelming 32.7% from three), but he's an absolute sieve, defensively. Hard to imagine him as anything other than a backup PG.

His teammate Josh Green lacks the handle Nico possesses, but is a huge bodied defender on the wing that can guard SG/SF and has a solid jumpshot profile. Josh has the potential to be a 4th or 5th starter on a contender with his two-way ability. I'd much rather trade up 3-5 spots to secure Green than to settle for Mannion.

Would love a Tre Jones selection. So would Embiid and whoever is coaching this team. Shades of Mike Conley to his game. Nearly a complete player.

Thoughts on Cole Anthony? I know he's projected to get late lotto, but does anyone even like him even if he slips to us?

Absolutely elite at scoring off the dribble. Plays wreckless, though. Terrible defensive player, too. Strikes me as a losing player. Will put up major scoring production in his career, just probably on garbage teams. Personally, I would not want him.

Defense doesn't matter much these days, scoring on the ball is all that matters nowadays, you get these kind of players and try to live with all the other flaws hoping to fix or minimize them.

Interesting name.

I think he is a good fit with Embiid and Simmons, but a Im not sure about his potential. Maybe in the best case he can be like J.Murray, in the worst case we have a bench scorer who can create his own shot and shoot from 3. If he falls the draft night (11-15), I will be happy with a trade up for him (our high picks / Richardson in a potential package)

Smash him into a 3&D role where he makes a major commitment to defending. If he's capable of pulling that off, then you can potentially expand his role to some ISO. If he's there in the second, I'd draft him so quickly.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
