As much as I think he has the highest ceiling, no at 7. He is not going to picked in this range, so its better to buy him cheap which is why AK has been one of the greatest value drafters getting studs in teens or even 40s.
The Bulls really need to get rid of scrubs which is like one third of the roster and replace them with these potential players.
Wouldnt mind dealing no-long term core players in WCJ, Hutch and draft like 5 players that can be starters.
Yeah its terrible to develop that many players at once with Lavine still figuring out, but its better than having a rotten core.
It's easy to say he won't get drafted in that range, but you don't know that. Do the Bulls know? They might have a greater understanding of what teams are thinking, but ultimately I'm sure they don't know where he'll be going either. Obviously if you're willing to take the risk to trade down (and you have a willing trade partner) and still have him on the board, then cool, but ultimately, if you're at 7 and you think he's the best prospect on the board, there's no reason not to take him.
When I first looked at Poku earlier in the year, I thought he was a unique, intriguing project player but had a scary floor. The more I've gone back recently, the more I think he's worth the punt (if at 7 or so). We're a rebuilding team, we need to shoot for upside - in terms of upside he's probably top 3 in this draft. His movement and skill-set at his size is absolutely incredible. I believe his shot has a good chance to develop, and his frame will fill out.
It's worth remembering that most of the players we talk about on here will be gone - Ball, Hayes, Ajdiva, Edwards, Okongwu, Wiseman is one example of how the top 6 could play out. So (again, in this eg.) you're picking from Vassell, Okoro, Hali, Toppin, Maxey or someone like Poku. I think Poku is pretty reasonable in that conversation.
